I have a great uncle Prince, for that reason I never found his name strange. But, then again I have an uncle named Bishop...

I have a older cousin who LOVES his name Prince Carter.

My daughter has a friend whose dad's name is Prince Akeempo. It trips me out when it shows up on caller id. I think they are Nigerian. There is also a boy named Prince in her Sunday school class and his sister's name is Princess. I always thought it ironic that MJ called his son Prince and wondered if he has any musical talent.

He was a Football player in GWHS in NY when I was there.
He used 2 pick on me until I pulled out a plastic butterfly knife on him.
We became really good friends until I moved to NJ.

the name Prince is very common in South Africa (especially with blacks)

Yes, my cousin and his son as well as his late Father were all named Prince. The name is more common than some may think.
