My Dad's name is Prince. He said it was a tough name to grow up with because it was a popular dog name when he was growing up. He wouldn't let my mother name either of my brothers Prince. Before I decided not to have any children Prince was definitely going to be my son's name, to honor my father of course wink

One of our greatest Maori entertainers was called Prince Tui Teka. He was a very big man, with a big heart and beautiful voice who died in 1982

Yeah, my ex had several ancestors named Prince. That is not uncommon in Black families. Although some in the general populace (mainly white) seem to think it is a pretense on Prince's part! sad


Ithink your right about blacks having that name in their families for many generations.Ithink it goes back to the masonry(masonic lodge hall/ order) for african americans named after Prince Hall inthe late 1700's.Also my church's former choir director /organist name was Prince:)

... my nick-name since I was 9 was Prince & I've met a few people in South Florida with the last name Prince, they were Haitian. cool
