Really? I'm not a Pink Floyd expert, but I've never made that connection. Care to elaborate?

Yeah, I already knew about that, but what has it got to do with Prince and/or SOTT? Even if the "Oweee Ow" is a reference to The Wizard Of Oz, it's not even on the album... it's just a chant he did, and still does occasionally, at live concerts. A one-off reference isn't enough to say that SOTT is Prince's take on Pink Floyd...

The ballad of dorothy parker: i always thought prince chose the name dorothy because of the american poet dorothy parker (not the character dorothy gale)..unless that was just a coincidence shrug

Well Im not saying the whole album is PF 'sounding' but to "me" peronsally it has PF flourishes to it. Fior what Imeantone din IT, the Wiz of Oz answer record theme, and like the beginning of Starfish and Coffee's loud as nails alarm clock beginning thats somewhat similar (reminiscent to) of Pink Floyds 'Time' from ..here it comes, Dark Side Of The Moon.

That name came to him in a dream, and later on Susannah Melvoin told him who Dorothy Parker was.I think she was reading a book by her at the time, and the name crept into his brain somehow.

What about "Oh ee oh ee oh" from Jungle Love? Same thing? I also think I've heard it on the Simpsons.
