Grey became the established British spelling in the 20th century, pace Dr. Johnson and others,[119] and it is but a minor variant in American English, according to dictionaries. Canadians tend to prefer grey. The non-cognate greyhound was never grayhound. Both Grey and Gray are found in proper names everywhere in the English-speaking world. Americans tend to differentiate spelling when comparing the color with the adjective.

I'm American, but I prefer "grey".

Maybe it's just the comic geek in me hmmm

He's grey but due to his industry and persona if wouldnt be a good idea to rock it. I think it would be cool to play with it like any other look, keep people on their toes.I wouldnt mind a non photoshop, grey hair, no make up album cover with a stripped down album. But hey who am i? lol. I know one thing until he breaks through certain barriers that he placed on himself the music will suffer/ theres no other place to go but reality. hmmmf, that would be a good album name hear that prince? lol "last desination, reality".

You see a lot of younger dudes than Prince sporting their grey hair and it looks cool. Chris Rock , Will Smith etc. Maybe he just doesn't like the way it looks. or maybe it would make him feel old. His face still has a youthful look to it. (Most of the time)

It's strange...if he was as secure with his own talent and abilities as he appears to be you would think that his appearance wouldn't be as important to him as we all know it is. Perhaps his lyrics just go for everyone else.

When the hair that frames that face
Dark brown or silver lace
What is age but a cage? never mind
U'll b blind 2 not know that you get better with time

If I remember correctly his father was quite bald or balding. Unless he takes after his mom he may also be balding. But why give a crap? Everybody ages.
Wouldn't it be great if we could just grow up and enjoy the music regardless of how he ages?

Skin and hair are two different issues. The vast majority of men over 50 have gray hair.

Thank you for that GHEY answer.

Whether it's been on a.m.p. or on here, you are consistent.

Consistently 100% right all of the time.

As a matter of fact, I don't believe you've ever been wrong on a single issue. Not one that I can recall.

Unlike that other gentlemen, also from a.m.p. Mr. Bart Van Helemelen er something like that.

BTW, in my world, GHEY means super cool and intelligent.

So again thank you for being GHEY.

I don't ever remember saying I was correct 100% of the time, but I surely appreciate you being my #1 fan (I hesitate to use the word groupie, as you might be a frigid MFer who won't give it up for the sake of being a starfucker) from a.m.p. to here, and who knows where else. Gheez, I almost feel like I should charge you a fee, or send you an autographed picture or something.

I think he'd look better if he showed a little gray / grey ? in his hair... he'd look cooler at the age he is now, if he looked like he didn't give a damn... longish greying at the temples hair, would look very good on him! cool

Oh really??? And you really do believe that myth? I wish we would stop to generalize when it comes to race. I've seen many black people with wrinkles and many non-black people without. While skin pigmentation can play a role in how well skin ages, many light-skin black people don't have that benefit. And it still largely depends on genetics and life-style if someone gets wrinkles or not. Even though I live in a world that generalizes race, I would like to believe we all belong to the same race - the human race!
