I love you, seeing and hearing your music blasted open undreamt of possibilities for me. You walked right into my house and blew the dullness, depression and despair away. YOU are the reason I became a musician. YOu are my measuring stick, the barometer of my own strengths and weaknesses. When I get discouraged it is you who I think about, the man who divorce, death, and the worst business dealings imaginable could not stop. I love the complexity and depth of your personality, I love the courage, the balls, the heart which is overlooked by most people. Then, the courage to show the sensitivity, the hurt as a man and a human in your most intimate songs. Anyone hearing your music has to know you have a heart as big as all outdoors underneath the complexes. I love the superman who would not be stopped by anything. Just the other day I watched the Michael/James Brown video, you made an absolute fool of yourself, whether because you were intimidated, drunk or high. Yet, you had mastered the stagecraft to put you in those two men's league within a couple years. Remarkable.
