Love...Thy Will Be Done What a beautiful fucking song. Prince's solo version; I haven't heard the Martika version. The collection I have it on ("Prince In Rock") sounds like shit, though. I was wondering if any of you know the name of a compilation that might have a better-sounding one...?

Screw the Martika version. Is there a version of this with the NPG that has Prince's vocals. He had 2 versions of Mad, Funky Design, etc. I want a version of Love... with a band.

I actually heard this song on the radio once in a fast food place. Stopped me dead in my tracks. Was it ever released on a soundtrack or something? How'd the radio station get it?

There's a studio version with Sonny on vocals that uses the same instrumentation of Prince's live version. The studio one with Sonny is my favorite.. cracknbush

I actually dont favor the Prince version.
The Martika version is alot more sweet, has nicer clearer female vocals and has the full orchestra rather than the keyboard layout like Prince had. Prince knows that this version is the shit! No one can du it better than Martika did it. No one can do "Eternity" like Chaka But somebody can probably do a nicer version of "Love's No Fun" than Myte. Although i heard her version is a No one can do a nicer version of "If I Love U 2Nite" than Prince. hmmm...Love Thy Will Be Done is one song I have played 5 times in a row, and cried. I dedicated it 2 my best friends mom who was murdered in 2000. I first heard that song just a week b4 she died, and funny...it was the last song I heard b4 it all started... Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.

There is a great version of that song on the "sweet thing" boot, recorded in march 1995 at the Astoria Theatre in London. Ask around, maybe someone will post it on abmp for you.

Martika's version is really lush and seductive. Same with her version of Martika's Kitchen, really darn sexy.

Martika's version reigns supreme. stop kissing ass because P. wrote it. :I:'m sure he looks at these threads and gets jacked off with the amount of ass-licking that goes on here.. look at the London Apollo concerts! even P. himself dissed a man when he shouted ":I: Love U Prince!"

Thanks! As for the Martika version, I'll definitely check it out. I liked some of her music. But although I'm not a full-blooded sheep, I am one of those that almost automatically thinks Prince's version of anything kicks everyone else's ass. Because it does.
