I love Madonna , but I was bored with the collaboration with Timbaland. I loved Neptunes stuff and I think a collaboration with them would be interesting for Prince. Although I'd rather Prince just do it on his own. Like someone said before, he should go back to being a little more experimental. I agree his stuff is a little too adult contemporary. I know he's 51, but this is Prince we're talking about. I also agree what his former engineer said about switching to digital. I like the idea of him him going back to his old sound, but it was better with the analogue equiptment.

Noone said anything about timbaland producing prince I'm talking about a melding of the minds.Timbaland and prince are both genuises in different ways and Madonna is not a producer just a prodecee.

I would have for Prince to get a producer like Timberland, I even hate when Prince has his songs 'remixed'

The one area I wish he would emulate Madonna is in performance and visual media.

There is a reason her Sticky Sweat tour has sold 400 million

People can say she isn't relevant or doesn't have talent all they want, she's got something. And as far as relevant is concerned she was very instrumental in challanging media/musics idea of women, power, sex etc etc

Even Prince new she had something enough to want her to star in Graffiti Bridge, and Madonna had enough sense to know that movie was a career destroyer.

Have you seen any of 'her' movies?

lol I knew someone would bring it up, I'm not talking about that, as much as she was still known for her image and was very much in demand(still is) in that department. At that time, Madonna was huge, so for him to go after her was for the role was smart. I don't think she could have played that part though. She's a very good actress as long as she is either like/herself:A League of Our Own(playing an sensual Italian-American woman) or in videos,(someone said most singers are horrible actors except in videos)

While there is no question prince has now achieved legendary status he no longer remains relevant in the same manner that Madonna has in terms of the charts. Madonna has cleverly changed her production styles every few years and has always been a mainstay on billboard.Maybe prince should expand his horizons and collaborate with a producer like timbaland or David guetta.

That's not a 1/2 bad idea. I believe if P worked with a few producers, if anyone Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis could assist him with a chart topper. P's so off center when it comes to his albums. There's different styles of music on 1 album let alone the 3 he has out now. (Lotusflow3r)

Actually I think if Prince just started hanging out with and jamming with Sheila E. Wendy & Lisa, Brown Mark Dr Fink, Morris Day, Jessie Johnson, the Time, the Family(they do want him to do music with them) I think it would stimulate him very much the same as he was in those earlier years. Those people are the ones that really believe and appreciate his music and sound.

yeah the ticket prices were freakin sky high

you should have quoted me

Naw that's not the reason, the tour started last year and ended in the early winter, and started again this year Spring and was still sold out, it's not the money.

I'm not comparing Madonna & Prince at all. But people can say what they want, hate her millionaire self all we want, for someone out since the 80's and still a strong presence in Pop Culture and very relevant in fashion and music says something beyond 'media whore' whores never last long.

So? Madonna's talents as a singer, dancer, producer, song-writer, arranger and actress are mediocre. She knows how to get the hottest producer so that he/she can produce her some hits. Besides, she is the master when it comes to PR. Apart from that, Madonna's everything but talented. And you know it.

Prince ALREADY DID try linking up w/ a hot producer -- he had the NEPTUNES produce his TGRES remix -- and that didn't chart! He's probably soured on the whole thing now.

madonna is a talentless hag and so is timbaland with his lame repetitive computer made beats

it would be pathetic and embarrassing to see P hook up with the latest
hot 'producer' of the week just to appeal to the kids

who cares about charts anyway ?
charts are for 13 year olds shrug

Madge is without a doubt an icon and truly desrves much prasie for all she has achieved. Like all such artists I am sure that there are elements he can take from her career i.e. seriously top draw marketing on every project she does, the care and attention to detail she and her collaborators put into her videos / image, the detail and entertainment value of her shows and certainly her commercial accumen.
