Credits: made by Kazuo Takeda cool

The last little hand spray is really the funniest. The dance in itself probably won't be as popular as the "Electric Slide," but I like to watch the cartoons do it. cool

I do indeed love "Mountains" and I believe it is one of his best songs.I love the extended version playing over the film credits (same as the video for the individual song I believe)...is this version the same as the 12"? I love the tamboura sound-probably a sample of some sort by Lisa.It is used really tastefully and atmospherically.I have always loved when the horns quote the riff from the Blood,Sweat and Tears classic "Spinning Wheel" in the middle of the tune. He seemed to enjoy doing little quotes like this around the Parade/Under The Cherry Moon period. He hilariously quotes Brenda Lee's "Sweet Nothings" in "Kiss"-super cool and you have to really KNOW music to get things like this:)

The album version of the song is good, but the 10 minute version on the 12-inch is simply great.

Not thoroughly original (he must have listened to Sly Stones I want to take you higher a lot), but nonetheless colourfull, funky and building up to a great climax.

Agree, like most of the album edits(teases) the extended version explodes. The ending rhythm of the edit just got me upset, until I got the single/extended. This is one of the songs when I got the lp that I hoped was released as a Bside:extended.

This song just feels so good, and hearing the accustic live version recently made me meloncholy.

Once upon a time in a land called Fantasy
17 mountains stood so high
The sea surrounded them and 2gether they would be
The only thing that ever made U cry

U said the devil told U that another mountain would appear
Every time somebody broke your heart
He said the sea would one day overflow with all your tears
And love will always leave U lonely

CHORUS:
But I say it's only mountains and the sea
Love will conquer if U just believe (Oh yeah!)
It's only mountains and the sea
There's nothing greater (oh), U and me

Once upon a time in a haystack of despair
Happiness is sometime hard 2 find there
Africa divided, hijack in the air
It's enough 2 make U wanna lose your mind

CHORUS

Guitars and drums on the 1, huh
(Bobby on the drum-ah)
Yeah!

It's only mountains (oh yeah) and the sea
(And the girls say)
There's nothing greater (oh), U and me

(Starvation)
Ow!

Mountains , uh

Another Mountains appreciation thread and I'm game. Love the outfit for this song. No wonder he's been playing it recently, it seems to be a crowd favourite. I wonder where Mountains features in the movie Parade, which I never saw. Cute cartoon too. Is that Prince doing the moonwalk? cool Can Prince moonwalk?

I was caught off guard when shocked Prince started playing Mountains. I've never heard him play it live, the only version of Mountains I'd heard was on Parade.

Prince was in rare form cool that nite
