There is so much anger, and hurt, and pain on this thread.
It's like asking a Michael Jackson fan who had prettier wives--they get sooooo pissed. sad

Well I know he's MADE many a person's career, But I can't see how he'd ruin anyone's. They seem to do that for themselves.

It's a double edged sword isn't it? I mean, having all that fame and notoriety. No matter who you run into, if you spend enough time with them, you make them instantly famous for no other reason than you're somehow attached to them.

Monica Lewinski sucked the President's cock, and voila! Instant fame!

But the unintended consequences of this fame is that she can never walk into a job interview again without the interviewer quickly scanning her dress for cum stains.
She can never let her resume speak for itself. She can never hope to be in a one-to-one meeting with a male supervisor without the implied expectation that he's going to get his cock sucked.

Now whether Bria Valente is sucking Prince's 51 year old penis is another story altogether. Certainly at his age, his shaft when not fully erect may not have developed as many wrinkles as his scrotum, but it surely has become more wrinkled. He can't cover his wrinkly old penis up, like with his face, with layers of Mac makeup--especially if he's expecting someone to run their wet lips up and down Mr. Delicious.

Whatever is going on between Bria and Prince, one thing is for certain: He has changed the course of her career for the rest of her life. In my opinion, due to having labored through listening to her album (and I mean labor in the most painful squeeze-a-baby-out-of-your-ripping-vagina sense) I can safely say that Bria is benefiting from her relationship to Prince. She'll continue to benefit from it for the rest of her life even after he dumps her for turning 18 or whatever.

But there are other artists who may or may not have benefited from their relationship to Prince. Lisa & Wendy , in my opinion could probably be enjoying more financial success as an indie act if they had not been tied to Prince.
Kirsten Scott Thomas who starred in UTCM could have been a bigger actress as well.

Tony M. would be enjoying at least a happy retirement hearing himself referenced by new cats , not to mention being the toast of many Vh-1 honors, if he had pursued his career in the underground clubs of major urban centers across America rather than on stage at arenas around the world grinding his penis against Prince's bum as they simulate very gay anal sex to songs like Daddy Pop.

Do you think artists in general benefit or are held back to being tied to such an iconic powerhouse of an artist such as Prince?

More importantly, Imago... why the inconsistencies in your paragraph spacing?

But, in regards to your topic - I do think Prince probably uses foundation and maybe a little eyeliner(to accentuate the vein) on his schlong.

I think everyone who has worked with Prince benefitted from the relationship. What they did with it after parting ways with him is all on them. Wendy & Lisa kept on making music and working in the business behind the scenes. if the music is in you then you'll keep on going at it after Prince is long gone. Taja Sevelle is a good case of that. Jill Jones as well. Outside of the Prince realm neither is greatly known to the average consumer but they've still put out music because it's who they are. If former proteges wind up selling real estate and leaving the music behind entirely then it probably wasn't a priority for them in the first place.
When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

I have been on Prince.Org for only a short while. Some of the orgers are the most nicest people. I don't think Imago was talking about Wendy, Lisa or other successful people that Prince was associated with. He is talking to the people that are behind the scenes. The people that Prince rubs the wrong way. Imago, there's a long list. You could stay up for day's siphering through it. God has a way of revealing everything. Each of us has a past, a little secret we want hidden. You and some of the orgers had read and still read about Prince's past. Did he change yet? No! One thing he gave was an amazing Concert for Charity. And he gives to charity often. That was a nice gesture. It used to be when he has a new Girlfriend everybody would love to see her. Now it's getting old, cold and dark. I'm not trying to mess up your thread you have the right intentions. Everything you said is right on the money. I don't know about the sex stuff, but hurting someome to get ahead in life will always attract bad karma. Ripping someones life away without saying you're sorry is bad. I like Prince.Org because you guys keep it real. Like I said, Prince deserves this website. (This is coming from above above... not below) Thank You And May God Be With You All. Thanks for being the true fans of Prince and being real.

Well, I'm not really talking about Prince deliberately jeopardizing people's careers here.

I don't know that he has, and frankly I'm not 100% sure I'd believe sources that claimed that he ruined their careers that way.

What I'm talking about is that being associated with Prince may either help or hurt someone's careers well beyond the original career trajectory (whether it was upwards or downwards) solely based on Prince's fame and influence--not Prince's intentions.

For example, Mel. B. will forever be a Spice Girl, no matter what else she goes on to try and accomplish. But George Micheal has well moved passed 'wham' and Beyonce seems to be moving beyond 'Destinys' child. They've been able to redefine their careers and flourish outside of their beginnings without letting those beginnings be much more than a footnote in their careers. However, Mel. B. won't. And Poor Vicotria Beckham has gone from being skinny Spice or whatever to being Mrs. David Beckam.

Sorry, Imago but if you look at it. Vanity, Jill Jones, Cat, Brown Mark, Bobby Z and Dez Dickerson. Appolonia has her on Production company. Those are the only people that I can think of that might've had a bigger career without Prince, but we got to understand that if it wasn't for Prince and his music... we wouldn't be talking about these people today.

I don't think Prince ever really "destroyed" anyone's career as much as maybe just delayed them.

It's like if you're in the Midwest and have dreams of going to California to be a star in Hollywood. On your way ther your car breaks down and out of nowhere this guy who calls himself "Prince" offers to help you out. He says not only can he get your car fixed, but he can also help you become a star. Well, you agree to his help and everything starts out great. Later on down the line you find out that the movie he gets you to star in is called Plan 9 From Outer Space.

He failed to pay invoices (on time) a lot (custom made jewels, props, video,...). Some companies went out of bussiness because of that.

Good singers and musicians (and actors and actresses) are two-a-penny.
It's about having the other qualities required you need to make you a "star"
Wendy and Lisa?
Brilliant musicians who make money out of being brilliant musicians not being stars.
Their career would've probably got to the place it is now with or without Prince's influence.
Other people, like Morris Day, had some of that magic star quality and boyfriend worked that as much as he could.
Look at Miss O' Connor. She didn't work with Prince but had her big moment because she covered one of his songs.
what she did with her career afterwards was her due to her own qualities.
People can only work with what they've got.

I hope deep in my heart Prince will give anyone who he have hurt an apology.
Everyone that have been human has hurt someone. But it takes a person that truly
believe in God to say I"am Sorry. Like you can't change the past. But you can change the future. And that's when you are with 1 with God. It's not words
it's the action. Thanks

oh god damn

Hate is not of God. That your better person that says they believe in God. It's so good we have choices and still live on this earth. (We can choose)
