Articles about Prince's sexual equality in his music?

Hey everybody,

I'm doing a report on Prince in my Music and The Black Experience class. It's around a 10 page report and my topic will be focusing on Prince's sexual equality in his music. Any articles that you know if? I remember there being one sometime last year in B*tch magazine, I think? Thanks! I cannot wait to start writing this paper.

Of course there is the controversy about "Darling Nikki." All that I can say to contribute is that I believe Prince was and has been courageous with sharing his feeling brilliantly and creatively.

I think it's important to see Prince as a man that has always laid out the difference between sex without love and sex that is admired and desired by GOD.

"Temptation," is a good song to talk about. Your paper can teach if U let it.

"Selecting your lover's." should be taught in school. cool

HAHA of course you guys get credit!

....

promise. =)

There are a lot of songs that I was thinking about incorporating into my paper...."Head", "P Control", "Darlin Nikki" (thanks again!), "If I was your girlfriend", "I Wanna Be Your Lover" etc. I just need to find a few articles to support this notion that Prince definitely took sex in mainstream music to realms that were simply unheard of at that time (and even today!).

I also tried to find books about Prince and his influence at my campus library which was not very successful. =P

I'd start with sister, even tho it doesnt give the female any credit it does show her as predatory powerful, the video to insatiable show a woman carrying out sexual fantasy. This would be my take on Princes equality-tho he is guilty of using women as eye candy, the female characters he surrounds himself with seem complicit in their sexuality
