I don't know how many times I've seen it, but it's probably tied with The Wizard Of Oz. Who here doesn't have every bit of Purple Rain dialog memorized? If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

I've seen PR more than OZ, but know both by heart. Oz came on once a year while growing up, so it got a jump start on PR. Some folks claim that you can play the Sign O The Times album along with Wizard Of Oz and get a cohesive experience from it like Pink Floyd's The Wall. I never tried it. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

I watched OZ every year too growing up. But I'm 41, and by the time PR was out, I probably only had 15 OZ showings under my belt. I had at least that many in the first or two year PR came out in theaters, and then on video. In fact, just tonight I had PR on in the background for a while, for "noise".

I've lost count!
I do make an effort to watch it on the anniversary - just to reminisce

I've watched it once. Tried watching it again recently and stopped before the end. Apart from the music, it's not really a very good movie. IMHO of course. RIP

Not very many. I wasn't a fan in high school, so I actually didn't see it till years later. I saw it for the first time in a theater earlier this year.
Ever once in a while I'll watch it on TV, but only in parts. "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"

No more then 5 times my entire life, it's not exactly a quality film but the music rocks. On another note why are peeps here mentioning Wizard of Oz? What's the significance?

Squirrelgrease mentioned it, I just assumed that was another film they have seen lots to. No significance other than that that I can see. RIP

They'll spend 20 minutes looking all over for the remote before you have to instruct then on doing it manually. I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.
