Song-wise I actually think Controversy is a little bit better, just because of the masterpieces Do Me, Baby and the title track are, but overall, as an album, I prefer Dirty Mind. It is short, funky, has a concept, a dirty, revolutionary rude-boy message and is more "unique" than many other of his albums, including Controversy. | |

I think Dirty Mind is the better album from start to finish and a better overall statement.
But Controversy, Do Me Baby, and Let's Work are 3 songs that are as good as anything he's ever written!!! I would put those 3 songs up against any other 3 songs in Prince's career. JERKIN' EVERYTHING IN SIGHT!!!!! | |
