Chaos and Disorder

I know that this isn't the first thread with appreciation for this album but I listened to it for the first time in a year. This album is probably one of Prince's most underated albums. I also think Around the World in a Day and Emancipation are also overlooked.

I could do without "I Rock, Therefore I Am". The rest is good stuff. It kind of puts a cap on his prolific, and funky as hell, era of the mid 90's, which encompasses Gold, Come, Exodus, prince, and Chaos.

I've always loved "Dinner With Delores" especially after hearing it live at the Today Show and spotting myself in the crowd on my DVD.
When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

I listen to " I Will" "Right the wrong" almost everyday. Emancipation is my favorite album right now, and Around the world in a day is also a album with alot of great songs.

It's got good songs like the title track, I Like It There, Dinner With Delores, The Same December, Into The Light and Dig U Better Dead. Yes, it's an underrated album but not as underrated as Newpower Soul.

I agree, that song is terribo! I Will is very nice, the piano solo, the sax solo....Prince's vocals. The title track is a great intro song. I Like It THere is brilliant. Same December is good. The one and only hit from that album, Dinner With Delores, is a pretty good song too (i read somewhere that there is a version out there with alternate lyrics). I think the reason that album along with the other ones you mentioned are so good is that he had a GREAT band.

I have loved this album (minus I Rock Therfore I Am) since its release. Never understood the hate people put on it...its a rockin little album. I still think if Prince was into promoting the album at all it could've been a hit.

He actually seemed fond of Dinner With Delores and Zannalee. He performed both of them live on television. Also those two tracks along with The Same December got videos made for them.

I'll have to hear that one also... Catching up on Prince albums I haven't heard over the last few years, I'm afraid to say... I just bought Emancipation and I thought it was great! Most of the tracks are songs I will listen to over and over...which is saying a lot for a three disc album... Also, listened to the Gold Experience for the first time in 10 years and most of the songs (with the exception of the Dolphin Song) were as good as they were in '95!

It's pretty much a performance video with just Prince, Michael, and Sonny. The thing I liked about it was there were at least 50 guitars that Prince has used hanging from the ceiling over where they were performing. Filmed on the Paisley Park soundstage.

Got this for my bday like a month a go. Title track rocks; I Like it There/Dinner with Delores are amazing; Same December has its moments; Right the Wrong is pretty cool; Zannalee is alright; I Rock...uh drop the rappers its alright; Into the Light = powerful stuff; I Will is pretty sweet; Dig U Better Dead would have been a good way to end it; Had U...don't get it yet way too short. Long story short, love it and its much overrated. Can't believe I didn't get my parents to get this for me in kindergarten.

I kinda feel like all Prince albums are a bit over looked w/ the exception of PR. Lovesexy, SOTT, 1999 are also held today as classics but generally overlooked in comparison.

Well that makes sense. Just talking about the song in general. I guess if its a big old 1:25 F U to Warner as the last original output he gave them that makes sense. Outside of that context I don't get it but then maybe that is the only context it should be understood from. I guess since I like the long jams, something that clocks in faster than Al Bundy is not that satisfying.

ive read the stuff about this album before and believe me ive given it plenty of chances but no matter how many times i play it i only ever like the first two tracks then its downhill all the way but its still worth it for those first two classics.
