Please forgive me

but i have to let out a few fruastions on princes music. Yes i'm a dye hard fan of prince's music and i have been so for a very long time, but this jazz thing i'm just not feeling. I feel as if this is yet another one of princes phases that he will soon fade out of. While everybody else is being postive and congradulating him on this new stlye, I want to be bold enough and be the first to ask ... what in the hell is Prince doing ? I think this Old age is finally getting in his head, I mean Jazz is cool in all ... but if you ask me Jazz and Prince just don't mix. I mean from day one, Prince came out on the scene to Rock the hell out of everybody and that he did. I mean Got dammit if they would just Let Elvis Presely Rest in Peace, Prince could very well be the King Of Rock n Roll. He took Jimi Hendrix place and Impressed the hell out of everybody with his SKillz and Talents and Now he wants to close his deal with the Jazz ? Well I support Prince in whatever he decideds to do, I just was wondering am I the only one who's feeling fruasteded like this ? You know Prince is a bad boy, Once your a bad boy your always always Bad boy, that's just something in nature, you can't change that!!
I don't want to sound like thos people that says I want the old Prince back ... but Got Dammit all the hell, I'm getting sick of this shiz and nobody saying nothing about it. ... PRINCE COME BACK TO US PLEASE!!!

WOAH!!!

It's good to vent sometimes biggrin

I figure Prince has dabbled with jazz for years. I'm happy to finally have him release some of it. And, I'm happy that as with all things Prince, this too shall pass...

I'm not frustrated...but I am not a jazz fan.
Looking forward to next project. smile

endorphin 74 said ..."this too shall pass" ...but
what might be next?...I know 45 comes after 44; then 46 and pretty soon 50!

I know Prince does not count b-days,
but the years still add up.

Hmmm, I wonder...
So...how's everybody doing? smile

There is no need to be asked to be forgiven about that.
Your going to like what you like. I was waiting to see if people were going to feel that way about Prince and his Jazz work or not.

For me it really isn't a problem because I love music of all kinds.

But I am sure he will do some new or somthing other then Jazz down the road.

That's ok. He's not going to please everybody all the time. Don't let it bother ya.

While everybody else is being postive and congradulating him on this new stlye, I want to be bold enough and be the first to ask ... what in the hell is Prince doing ?

But see, that's not exactly correct. Not everybody here is into it. Maybe most are, but you're not exactly the first to say you don't like it.

He took Jimi Hendrix place and Impressed the hell out of everybody with his SKillz and Talents and Now he wants to close his deal with the Jazz ?

NOBODY took Hendrix's place.

You think nobody has said anything about it? You must have taken a hiatus from reading this site.
This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

Lisa, you truly don't understand Prince
if you think Jazz & Prince don't mix.
Prince does not stay in one place for to long.
Give him so time to find his new sound.

U know, prince DOES go thru phases.. however, he AlWAYS incorporated jazz into his catalouge. as 4 the present, his"sound" is really NOT all jazz. U can hear the very funky hooks in there, as well as the blues. He still adds lots of Jimi Hendrix imo, & james brown. Alot of R & R? no. but truly, imho, i think mick jagger and keith look utterly weird still holding onto their "old" images as rockers at their age. they dont advance! Plus they dont even sing the tunes like bfore. they r totally "off key" last time i checked.(last week) So many "other" rock stars of the 70's & 80's even sound "off key". Prince may have 2 look at his lyric books from time 2 time, but he's NEVER off key, & the band is ALWAYS tight! His voice is better than bfore. amazing. My daughter liked the "old" prince too. (the rocker) I'm trying 2 convert her, but it seems so far, she cant adjust. some ppl never will. but he will convert new ppl into liking his new stuff now. some ppl who never followed or maybe even heard him bfore. then there's the ones, like me, who loves ALL he does. i hate country, but if HE did it, i'm sure it would have his label on it and i'd like it. BTW, "whole lotta love" by zepplin, is R & R, and lots of others he does now. Just like Herb4 said, as long as he keeps the funk going, I'll be happy. and he puts the funk into most of his music. Also redoing some of his older stuff like PEACH, DOLPHIN, & others is really cool. sound alot better now, imho.
May the BELLS ring 4 U even when ur not in love. hug kisses

I've been digging everything Prince has done in the last two and a half years. smile Long live Madhouse! And if any of you've heard the tapes from 1977 of Prince, Andre, and Bobby Z jamming, then you know this isn't new. And exactly what type of music did Prince's dad play and mother sing?

Well ... I'm sure I will be fine... I don't want to sound fanatical ... but Prince music has become apart of who I am, it's like second nature. I listen to the TRC every now and then, and I still plan on getting ONA any time soon, it's just I guess I'm going through that "I miss the old stuff" Phase, but it'll past just like the days of the week. I've been a fan since I was four years old and have been able 2 adjust to all his musical changes very well. This is just another one of those things...

That's right. Even Prince himself will you that.

Iam not a jazz fan either, but Prince is so brilliant with music he can make anything sound good.
I was disappointed in these tracks because when I saw them I was thinking wow, 9 new songs and than his voice wasn't on any of them.I really miss his voice.

But I prefer the songs where you can't keep still.
