"Wonderful Ass" ... I came across this track and it's history, and I can't help but wonder: why the HELL wasn't it ever officially released? I think this song could have easily been a hit! I'm just throwing a hissy-fit because I am wishing for the unrealistic ...

I tell you what I don't like about it (and my haters are my motivators and fuck em in the ear):
Musically I find it overly simplistic even for Prince. Like a rap song, it relies on the base to carry it but Prince has never been "all about the base". His strong suit is guitar, drum and keyboard. I hear too much synthetic base on this song and that annoying fake ass horn. Lyrically, it's childish even for Prince. Prince's song lyrics are usually clever and thought provoking and metaphoric...this one aint hittin' it. Vocally, it sounds whack especially Lisa who has always had a strong and sexy voice IMO. She sounds like she's snoozing. I just don't like this punk piece of shit which sounds like something an early version of Depeche Mode would sing after a long night of rehearsals and speed balling. | |

It's a song tittled Wonderful Ass and he made it simply for fun perposes. Also it has all those intruments you just mentioned. Rhythm guitar that most funky Prince dance songs have at that time DMSR, Lady Cab Driver, keyboard ect. I dont hear any horns, fake or not. Not the version I listen too. Some people think I'm kinda cute

But u know as well as anyone else...some of his songs are all about the bass, he has been known for his synth bass...and his 'toons' don't always have to have meaningful mature content...he's just bein playful, almost a throwaway song...I dunno (Horny Toad?)...you're not gonna pigeonhole him now are you?
