Which Prince song reminds you most of a past relationship? Listening to a Prince song I haven't listened to in ten years, because it was too painful---"I Hate U" off the Gold Experience, which of course, is about anything other than hate...shows the ambivalence of emotions in a deep relationship and the flip-side relationship of love...the love/hate, yin/yang component...and even after all these years...it brings tears to my eyes. Would like to know what other fans experiences are! | |

Thanx so much for your responses. I am now listening to the Come album. But I want to leave some lyrics that so reminded me of a relationship (20 years!) that just ended from "I Hate U":

Whenever this persons sister knew I was on the phone, she would yell/growl the title of the song...u know...how it's sang in the song. I could always hear her in the bkgrnd. All cuz my handle is BobGeorge. She was familiar with Prince as well. | |

I always think about the song amillion Days, cause when I had a man in my life it felt like I wasn't being true to myself, he was real mean to me most the time, thinking about not being present in my own life is a scary feeling, but I also had to be a bit numb to deal some of the trouble my eyes have seen  | |

Strange Relationship.
Right after the relationship ended, I listened to the song in a live version from some Hawaii tour/concert. In a weird way, the music made me happy and cheerful... I was glad the relaionship was finally over, and the music made me wanna go crazy dancin'!! | |
