There appears to be a pattern with this release that wasn't such a great idea. Kiss The Stone have separated each disc into a different time period, and on each disc follows a familiar pattern. First up there are some outtakes, followed by various tracks from circulating soundboard recordings from either rehearsals, concerts, or broadcasts. While the idea is nice, the live tracks are FAR too incomplete to be enjoyable, and the whole release appears to be a rushed job. That said, there ARE some nice moments on here. Disc 1 contains a number of strange choices, including the extended portion of 'Turn It Up', yet the main part of the song is not included. Interestingly 'Feel U Up / Irresistible Bitch' has been left on here as it was recorded (one continuous session), and they have not split the two tracks - and that is to their credit. Disc 2 is a little unspectacular with nothing worthy of note, and everything being available in superior quality elsewhere. Strangely, 'Big Tall Wall' on Disc 3 runs at an abnormally slow speed, and it's inclusion is baffling. Disc 3 does however contain a nice clear version of Prince & Sheila E's brief performance at 7th Street Entry from July 1985, so what they fucked up with on 'Big Tall Wall' is made up for with the 'Girls & Boys / Holly Rock' live track. Disc 4 again, is a messy collection of various sources and is perhaps the worst of the 5 discs here. Disc 5 is far better, and includes the complete excellent BBC Radio 1 broadcast, along with a surprisingly good version of the circulating Estandard aftershow. Obviously my main complaint about this release is the fact that there are too many incomplete parts of excellent recordings which already freely circulating, however there are some good moments here....just not enough to make it a great set. All the discs are in individual jewel cases with accompanying separate artwork, etc and each comes with a separate catalogue number (#3005 through to 3009). All 5 are housed in a large long box with an accompanying 16 page booklet, however the info in the booklet isn't exactly accurate and there are many errors. This release dates from 1994, so for it's time it IS a nice document.

The first real boot I bought back in 1995 or so. Starship Records in Tulsa, OK had it on the shelf for a while, and I finally snagged it. It's where I first heard "Just My Imagination", "Love...Thy Will B Done", "Chocolate", "Moonbeam Levels", etc etc. It always holds a place in my bootlegging heart.

It's not meant to be a show boot, it's more like a compilation of stuff, hence the dating on each CD. It's a good smathering of stuff.
