I remember reading on a thread recently that Prince wrote the song, "HERE," in 5 minutes.

I have written poetry for most of my life and what I have observed I believe is also true for Prince.

It does not make a song or a poem less genuine or meaningful if it is written quickly. Some feelings have been living within a creative heart and mind for a long time.

When something just falls out of you, mechanically it can mean that your craft has become second nature and on a spiritual level it can mean that "GOD," just handed it to you.

Prince is a wonderful songwriter...always has been and always will be. The subject matter doesn't change the fact that Prince is in his own class of wonderful skill....Divine Skill.

When you look at Prince as a musician, you can easily say, "There is Grace poured into a man." I truly respect and admire Prince as a Song Writer.

I agree, Prince inspired me to become a songwriter as well as many other artists.


Prince songs are the only ones I can listen to and get inspired, listen and cry to, listen to and get joy from. Listen to and love the man behind it all!

The writing was always such an important part that seperated him from the rest, truly amazing work.

how many artists can say they WRITE, produced and perform all the songs on their albums? NOT many!!!

i never knew that, is this true damn, the man has some serious song writing then.

I can only imagine what it is like to write a song, when poetry is just the top layer of a song. Prince has been inspirational to me too.

Lyrics are 4 me the most important thing in the song! It's reason why I love Prince's music! His lyrics are perfect and sincere

I Love most of Prince's lyrix, but I have to admit there are a few I could do without. I'm not giving him a perfect grade on lyrics. I'll give him a 9.6 and not a digit more.
