Others believe it had deteriorated well beyond the point of acceptability by then. The q was about the org. I guess it was quite busy then. I was there and was too busy at the O2 to post much. "My God it's full of Stars"

Summer 2007 was fantastic. I went to six of the shows, including the first and last night. The last night was the greatest Prince gig ever - there had been 20 nights leading up to it, and it felt like the finale of something really special. Prince was way excited himself and the crowd was totally up for a great time. All the shows had something special about them and something different. It was worth going multiple times because they were different shows - not just a re-run of the same synchronised spectacle.
The org was great, particularly for finding out about ticket on-sales. Some people got burned by buying VIP tickets that they didn't think were worth it and there was a lot of negativity around that. But generally, we were all excited to have such a fantastic residency taking place in London. It felt like one of the most important pop music events here ever. Lots of people went who wouldn't have gone to a Prince concert normally, and the ticket price was great. At the same venue tickets typically go for £50+. Prince's shows were £31.21 (+bkg fee), to make sure his music was there for everyone. The run of 21 shows was a fantastic achievement, and it was wonderful to witness him at the top of his game, bringing his best show to London. I've seen him quite a few times since 1990. Brixton Academy was pretty special, but the 21 Nights was by far the greatest Prince show I've seen. | |
