do you think princes vault material will ever see the light of day?

i was just wondering since prince has sooo much unreleased material not to mention probably never before seen recordings concerts documentaries and other footage that has never been released to the public such as the Prince Kevin Smith documentary and other things that ive heard about but if i said it then this thread would just turn into rumor nonsense

but do you think we will ever see the unreleased stuff? im waiting because i would totally buy it! biggrin

Yes I do think he'll release the vault music (not sure about the visual stuff), he's been paying attention to it in the last few years e.g "The Grand Progession" mentioned in F.U.N.K and "In a large Room with no light" played at various gigs in 2009. He knows we want it, knows a lot of the material kicks ass and hopefully has a plan to get it out there. Extra tracks on remastered Warner Bros collection or new galaxy on lotusflower?? Either Or!
Please Prince get it out there so I can erase "the work" off my ipod and replace it with beautifully produced, mixed and mastered gems like "all my dreams" & "train"!! A Prince Anthology series would be out of this world with alternative takes & demos like the acoustic version of "kiss"... Nothing comes from dreamers but dreams wink

We will see revamped versions (similar to IALRWNL) - i doubt we will see a complete 'xtraloveable' complete with rape lyrics, or songs in there original state

unfortunately i think old classics would be tweaked, edited, polished etc.....

Sad but true!!!

I want a crystal clear version of Dance Electric & Computer Blue(Ext.)....oh to dream!!!!!

Why do so many people yearn for what we've already heard and have to be released? I want the unheard stuff. biggrin

Leave it to him to have a clause in his will that the vault contents either get destroyed or buried with him.

Apart from a couple of dozen songs, i'm not impressed with most leaked vault stuff, and can see why most of it is unreleased.

Of course, but then we'd only be inundated by threads complaining how it sounds too produced and was better before. biggrin

I think this question is asked every two weeks, and the answer is always "NO ONE KNOWS".

I think most of the material from the vault will see the light of day. I think in the future we will get another taste of The Vault. I think he'll let us check out just a little bit of what's in the vault but, I think 4 the most part it's gonna stay in there. I mean over the last 10 years he's been going in there from time 2 time and release stuff from there. I hope he continues the Crystal Ball series bcuz that was looking 2 be real interesting. Of course remastered his WB stuff and include some the material of those eras from the vault. This is why I'm beginning 2 wonder about 2013 as far as Prince (did u notice in that last interview?). He's mentioned 2013 several times in regards 2 future plans. So, who knows.

He knows his legend status needs remastered albums - he has seen what's happened with the Beatles and Jacko, and will want a piece o' the pie!

I would like to see single disk remasters with a few bonus tracks added (for the casual fans), and double/triple disk sets with a whole disk of bonus material (video files/dvd) for the true funk soldiers.

I would like to see Purple Rain with the unedited original length songs, either in place of the edited ones or on a separate disk.

THIS IS NOT A DREAM, I believe Prince will do this in 2013. FOR YOU will b the begininng....

I would love someone to break into the Vault Mission Impossible-style, master all of the tapes to digital format and flood the Internet with his whole unreleased output.

The Vault is there for a reason, although what the reason of it is anyones guess. Personally I think it's a kind of musical savings account. Prince's creative spark could one day be completley extinguished, there may come a time where he simply cannot write any songs that are up to his personal standard & that's when he'll dip into his "savings" as a back up. I mean, some of his most recent stuff could be 10 or 20 years old, you never know! It also could be a way of releasing music from beyond the grave, giving the profit to his family/friends/charity. Or he could bury it in an unknown location to inspire a world wide treasure hunt - indianna jones style. Nobody except Prince knows the reason, but it is fun to guess

That is actually an excellent point. How do we know that other artists don't have similar "vaults"? Prince was just the only one to admit it. I wonder if he ever regrets doing that?
