well i've heard this story of some1 upon their 1st meeting Prince.. she said: well it was painful, the very first time eye met him, we bumped in2 oneanothers foreheads..i was running up the stairs, & he was running down them, going torward the stage.. I'm serious!!, rushing 2 perform.. but after the pain settled, It was a very "awww" feeling, eye would say, and yes 4those that r wondering, he did stop and ask me if i were ok, and i said yeah, because i knew he had 2 get 2 that stage.(i wonder if he remembers..lol).. 2 b at his concert; "mind blowing"..... listening 2 him sing live; is even better 2 me, than an actual concert..u get 2 hear him say, ok, ok lets do that again!!, while laughing..FRESH if u will!! an autograph, well those don't come often, but 4 those that have them, or have been around when he's done so..well i guess its just a "kind feeling" of one caring 4 another..Love

There are a certain number of folks here (including myself) that have witnessed his growth and development as an artist and performer.
To have seen him in stage since 1979 to now, i consider myself VERY fortunate. It's been an amazing roller coster ride with the highest hills being the "controversy","1999","purple rain" & parade tours. Too see it all come to a halt and for me to get off the ride dissapoints me so!

A few stories, hope you'll like them...
Well, I've been a fan since...I don't know when and in 1987, a friend of mine and I were (with a lot of other people !) fortunate enough to be invited in Bercy during the Sign of the times tour day of (he was playing 4 nights but one day was of) to be part of the You got the look video, we waited a long time outside of the building and when we were asked to come in, it was very impressive to go into that big place which was so empty and so quiet after the fury that took place the previous night ! We were ask to sit in the front rows and we waited, I turned my head and saw Prince sitting a few row behind us, waiting for us to install. It was the first time I was seeing him this close (not on a stage I mean...) I was really impressed ! The shooting of the clip was cool as we ended up asking Prince to play some drum while the dancers were performing...Sheila was here wearing her most infamous white outfit, I never totally recovered !!! In 1994, he came to Paris to sign autographs in a store (already told that elsewhere I think...), so I prepare for the meeting, we didn't know he would be there, we thought that only the band was coming...but he was there, I was to see him face to face (well, for a second and I was one out of many...but still !). When my turn came, I dare shook his hand and told him a sentence i had prepare : "Thank you for being yourself throughout the years." (ok, don't laugh too loud ! I hear you !) He was pleased (Mayte too) so as he sign his symbol name, I ask him if it was his new name from now on and he say yes. What stroke me was that his hand was so tiny and he was too. Some years later,(1999 ? 2002 ? I don't remenber but I can go check the ticket...just, not now) in an aftershow in the Bataclan, he wasn't pleased with the beautiful people from the audience that he had brought on stage because they didn't know the Kiss lyrics, He asked for someone who knew the lyrics,I was on the first row, I yelled : me, me ! And Prince (yes, Prince !), help me get on stage, well he pulled me on stage (with other people..)and we sang and we dance... At one point, I realised that I was standing between Larry Graham and Prince, my god ! I said to myself this was it and that I achieved what I wanted in my fan life and that nothing better could ever happen!!! But you know, it wasn't true, I wish I was in Paris last week or at Paisley Park for the concerts and meetings that took place!!! While I'm writting all this, I wonder if those were mere dreams or if it happened for real... Thank you for the reading ! Hope I answered your questions... Excuse my broken english. I have seen him in concert several times before but never upclose before 2008. I was very upclose for the 2008 NY concert, almost under his nose. He can be intimidating and at the same time very warm and sweet. That evening was indeed magical.. I won't forget it. I didn't get an autograph but certainly shared many smiles with him and touched him .
He doesn't sign autographs for fans anymore. I wish he did.

Its amazing to know someome of his famous standing is down to earth and humble. Yes, while he maybe statue; he is larger than life because of his musical genius. May we show love for what he has given to us and the world.
When you get to know him, he is funny, quirky, like to play the trickster, sincere about his message, and really loves his fans even if some of you don't believe it. He's hard working and a perfectionist..harder on himself than we could ever be on him. He loves to talk and laugh but only after you get to know him. His name is Prince...Music Royalty. after the aftershow at Vega Copenhagen 2002....
Me and some friends went outside a few minutes after the show ended. We turned around a corner and a big white limousine was just passing us, it was Prince himself at the backseat: he made the limo stop and rolled down the window, then he looked at us, and asked in his deep voice: "Was it too loud"?? We were all amazed, and stumbled (is that the right word?).. anyway we shouted back something like: "No No No... it was great". Then Prince rolled up his window and the limo droved away out into the night of Copenhagen. It all happened really quick, I guess it all took about 10 seconds, a really nice experience, sorry for my bad english.... ps. I have told this little story a few times already on housequake.com. In concert he's pretty good, though I've never liked his song choice or the way some of his songs are arranged. In his aftershows/after parties, he can be quite amazing. 10 years ago, he was amazingly beautiful to look at on stage. he looked like a moving living doll. It was almost scary. The guy is a master live.

introduced to him by tc ellis in late 91, he wore big shades, had a cane with D&P on each side. I was kinda drunk but i remember thinking his head was very large and his limbs were tiny. i'm a little guy ( 5'4 150lbs) and i thought damn he's small lol. After that i saw him alot at paisley whether we were out there recording or playing gameboyz in hoops, i mostly noticed how they responded when he arrived.

Since I discovered Prince live in 1986, I have been somewhere on the first five rows for every concert except when I was pregnant.
The concert is so much better up close, because you get to experience the amazing energy and vibe of the man and there is also a lot of interaction with the audience. At two occasions I've stood eye to eye with Prince. First time was at the opening of the Prince store in London. While we were waiting in front of the window, he got the tour of the premises. To get to the basement he had to pass the window. Because there was no crowd control, people started to push us towards the window. Prince stopped and gave us one of this enigmatic and seductive looks. He stood eye to eye to me only separated by the glass. But then he noticed the panic in the crowd and he got really worried. He decided to leave the premises while the original plan was that he would sign autographs after the officially opened. That's how I missed my big shot at getting his autograph Last occasion was at the most recent concert in Paris, the second one. I got to dance on stage and when Prince invited us to sing, I took my chance and sang "Play That Funky Music" while he played guitar next to me. That was an amazing experience ! I'm about the same height as him so I could look him straight in the face. He was skinnier than me but the energy he radiates is mind-blowing. He is also very focussed on stage - the concentration and dedication were almost palpable.

I met him in "Les Bains Douches", a trendy night club in Paris, and during an aftershow at the "NEW MORNING", a Paris Jazz club.Meeting Prince face to face is like being in front of a hologram.Everything about him seems so unreal.Amazing! You can tell about Prince's Future , but his Past is utterly unpredictable

in 2001 I flew all the way from the Netherlands to chanhassen to visit Paisley Park for the Celebration.
During concerts of Alicia Keys and other artists he was walking around through the public. During How come U don't call me anymore he was standing right next to me. I am 1,95 meter, so I couldn't look him in the eye It was a breathtaking and heartstopping experience, one I will never forget. How beautiful do the words have to B, before they conquer every heart
