Every report says that this ecstasy trip was a one-time experience. It's very unlikely that Prince ever took other drugs considering all the testimonies from past collaborators that were interviewed by Per Nielsen, Alex Hahn and Liz Jones amongst others.

I don't understand why this is so hard to believe. Prince's drugs are music, sex and God, and that's already a lot

There are people who were there and implicated in the story who'll tell you that it's true. They've spoken about it.

TIGHT!! i have never done drugs and i dont plan on it, however, if Prince did than so be it! it really does make him more human and personally i think its awesome! just look at my baby Jim Morrison. My boy was heavy on every drug known to man, as well as the rest of the band. Jim is a jenius and the doors are an awesome band. Some other examples are Iron Butterfly, Led Zeppelin, & JIMI HENDRIX! so yea that was the time period for heavy acid trips and naked body surfing! which is SOOOOO amazing!! God knows that i wish i could have been able to attend woodstock. Trust me...all my clothes would be off and i sure as hell would be doing every drug known 2 man!

Regardless...Prince is doing EVERYTHING RIGHT within his music career. He never lets me down so if drugs are used as inspiration than let the ACID TRIP begin PURPLE 1!!

And Prince does admit it himself - the song Annastesia is Prince's description of the whole trip and his subsequent epiphany and re-birth. But, this has all been done to death and there are those here that will never accept it, despite the overwhelming evidence.

And those quoting anti-drug lyrics by Prince - well, he's said many a thing in his time and not practiced what he preached and, of course, as we all do, changed his views about things too. And he's also used drug-imagery and lyrics (a la "Now") to his benefit when it has suited him.

Nobody would ever suggest that Prince was some major drug-taker, but to say he hasn't even tried anything is naive and ludicrous!

Oh and Nightgod - ecstasy isn't exactly "hard stuff" and, as a party drug, many people have tried it without coming through a supposed "gateway" drug like tobacco or cannabis. And most have at least tried alcohol, so its not really a fair assumption that taking e's without having smoked cannabis is like leaping straight in to a world of hard drugs.
