The Exodus Has Begun Being the knowledgable bunch you are, I wondered if anyone could tell me if Prince & The NPG ever play The Exodus Has Begun live?
I think its one of the funkiest tracks ever, but I don't ever recall hearing the band play it. "Had to get off the boat so I could walk on water..."

first heard this last year when i was walking through the city and i practically cried. it's so damn funky, and as it gets even funkier, you're worried it's about to end. but it doesn't it keeps get funkier and funkier.
funk face. plus, that chant should've been used at more concerts, imo.

Surely he's played it live during those days. He was doing a LOT of (new) material back then, and rejecting a lot of "Prince" material.
I could groove on "The Exodus Has Begun" all day. It's SICK. The live version of "Return of the Bump Squad" released on NPGMC 2001 is truly funkier than a sack of granddaddies!

Untrue, there ain't nothing funkier than a sack of grandaddies (well maybe 2 sacks) Grandma's hands clapped in church on Sunday morning, Grandma's hands played the tamborine so well.

I love that song. Haven´t hear a live version of it, though. But I haven´t heard that many live perfomance either. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."
