Hypothetical, O.K.?

Let's just say that Prince was to perform for one night, one set (2hrs), under the stars in a world class city in the good ole' U.S.A. for an intimate crowd of...2000 or so. Now, it could be chilly at the venue so you might have to bundle up....but all that being said, how much would you pay for a ticket to this event, hypothetically speaking, of course?

How much do you think Prince would charge for an appearance like this?

He would play only those two songs on repeat: 77 Beverly Park and $. The gig would have amazing outro with Prince laughing into the mic: "I have your 77 $..ain't nothin'wrong.." biggrin

O.K., let's up the ante? 33 views only 1 response.

Let's throw in you can bring your own wine and food basket and rather than the event being at night, let's say its late afternoon to evening.

Don't you wanna come?

Why do you say this? He played in L.A. and was excellent.

It was meant to be a joke..77 Beverly Park and $ -> 77$. That's what many of the orgers paid for joining the Lotusflow3r site..

O.K. so, look at this way people....stay with me now....

Some people are mad because they think they didn't get enough (yet) out of their Lotusflow3r.com investment, right?

Keeping in mind my hypothetical scenario....would't it be cool to have an exclusive founding member concert? A party. Hypothetically speaking of course....there's got to be 2000 people associted with this/that site, some family and friends sort of thing.....

If something like the hypothetical scenario described above happened, at it was only advertised to members....wouldn't that be kinda fun?

biggrin Haha, of course I wanna come but I'm not in the US. It was the chill factor in the first post. But afternoon is still gonna be chilly. I wouldn't need the wine and food basket & I don't know US Prices. But in EU...

Last year September in Holland, Stevie Wonder; Inside, warm & very close to the stage, 80 euro for a ticket. I don't know what the people without seats paid. Summer festivals tickets go between 70 -100 euro.

Your idea of the member's party though is a good one!

Hmmmn, 80 Euro is about $118 U.S. dollars right now...not bad. How many people do estimate were in attendance?

I honestly don't know. The ticket I see now was 69 + service costs around 75 therefore. It was full, including the standing area in front of the stage. Two rings. Maybe you can tell from link of the arena layout, I can't find it online as they have a couple of venues there holding 3000-10000 people. http://www.ahoy.nl/evenem...eatingplan

Small venue, only 2000 or so hard core fans who were really into Prince music, no wine or picnic, tooo much dancing for that.....anytime of day, doesn't matter....if it was within an 8hr drive, where I didn't have to spend money on airfare or hotel,....I'd pay around $300. If there was a guarantee to meet him afterwards, priceless.

You'd drive 8 hours, go to the concert, no hotel ? and just drive back?
Wow the energy of the youth! Or is that being hard core fan? Even Paris, 5 hours away I would fly not drive.

Why not just up the capacity to over 17,000 people. Then he could play under the
stars at the Hollywood Bowl. Plus the weather in L.A. means that you probably
won't even need to bring a coat, let alone a blanket etc.

Yeah, I'd be a bit worried about you too. I think there's ways to make the offer "affordable" as a package. Of course if you're driving an SUV, there's always the good ole' airbed in the back of the truck...rest stop anyone? wink

Agreed, the Bowl is ultimate, I love going there. The issue is underwriting...someone would have to save their lunch money for a long time to front those expenses... razz

I'd definitely go for a MEMBERS ONLY (no joining just for the show, previous members only) type of gig and would be willing to travel, if it wasn't across country nor in cold weather. Ah hell, if it was a private one, I'd travel and even freeze for it! thumbs up!

Everyone should go...maybe there could be a couple of "scholarships" at least a few guest list attendees. You just submit a "needs" statement and based on whose needs are the greatest, you could get free entry.

Its tough times for everyone, we should try and help each other out.

Believe me, young I am not!! LOL! I drove 6 hrs to see him in New Orleans, One Night Alone Tour, and was so hyped after the concert that I had no problem driving back. You're right though, 8 hrs might be pushing it. But I have been so anxious for another tour (haven't seen him since Musicology) that I think I would do it in a heartbeat.

It already happened! Back in the "Good Ole Days" as some here would call it. Paisley Park parking lot, September 15, 1988. Free. About 600 people.

How Sweet...I've been in a really rotten mood lately and I didn't want to corrupt the web site with my horrible attitude. I can't really blame it on quitting smoking cigarettes...but I did quit...Not until I have quit for a year will I congratulate myself for having some will-power.

I also had some soul searching to do...Sometimes the computer can be an addiction that might be good to walk away from once in awhile.

Thanks for wondering about me. I appreciate that. cool

I'm glad Tame is back too.

$125 seems reasonable. I assume most enthusiasts would pay that. Now that it is really cooler, the outside venue might not work as well; although some might still consider it--small venue and all. There's always next spring/summer. smile
