If the song was written by Prince, but has subsequently been released by another artist or group, I don't know if it still qualifies as "unreleased music". The reason I say that is because there's a good chance that Prince intentionally wrote the song for someone else in the first the place, and a lot of times what we hear on boots are probably just demos for the artist he's planning to give the song to.
Open Book, Baby You're a Trip, Chocolate, Desire, G-Spot, Get Blue, and The Dance Electric have all been released by other artists in one form or another. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I can't believe no one mentioned "In A Large Room With No Lights" (aka "Welcome 2 The Rat Race"). That is by far my favorite unreleased track. Closely followed by "In All My Dreams" & "Wonderful Ass". I also love "Can I Play With U" (aka "Red Riding Hood") cause I'm a huge Miles fan, and even though it's not either of their best stuff, it's still great from a collectors point of view! an you are so right " In a large room with no light " is the shit! I think "Can I play with u" is funky as hell! I have so many unreleased songs on my computer I hope he releases them someday- Just imagine how good the sound will be on sounds like Extra Loveable!!! damn! | |
