I don't loan anyone anything, and I don't ask for it either. We've all had friends who have lost things or destroyed it or messed them up. I just refuse to loan anything out anymore. No books, no CDs, no DVDs, etc. If I have the MP3s, then I'll pass those along of course. But the physical stuff? Nope.

Me either. I have lent cds and dvds out to people and they come back scratched, damaged and God knows what else. I have said no since someone jacked up my Hits VHS case.

I'm even hesitant about making copies. I'm like ...go buy it your damn self! Because unless they're going to give me 1/3 or 1/2 the cost, hell no you can't have a copy. It's not like picking up someone's day old newspaper that has no real use anymore. If it's MP3s that I Napstered back in the day or whatever, then I don't mind, but if it's a CD I own...I won't give THOSE over either.

The Hits and B Sides.... You're more than likely to impress someone with the " I like this one" or "I never knew this was Prince" approach than anyother.

I think Purple Rain, SOTT Diamonds & Pearls, Gold Experience might be the only stand-alone albums to win over people as the mix is varied and easy

Never, never, never loan...
Especially with out of print material that cannot easily be replaced.
BUT...
I will always make copies to hook potential new fans.
What's a blank disc cost? A quarter?
Yeah, I'll make a mix or two if I think someone will wake up to the fact that Prince rules and maybe get them interested enough to go buy some CDs.

Oh... and, to kind of answer your question... The Undertaker is the one I use to get music lovers to see past the image and realize Prince is one of the greatest musicians on the planet... and it works, too!

In public libraries here in DENMARK you are able to lend all the music CD's you need. It's all free:

But of course we pay high taxes too... wink

In this day and age its very easy to get music. But i made a copy of the latest Prince cd 4 a friend of mine. I would rather her hear it like this rather than a crappy MP3 format.Plus,I love spreading the funk. i already have an idea that when Prince tours the US again,im gonna make a mix cd for my uncle so that he will take me. I picked out the track list and everything.
