How many artists in the past few thousand years weren't appreciated for their contribution to culture during their lifetimes? How many died poor and alone? Prince has been able to do what he has done throughout his life BECAUSE he has fans. Our interest funded his way of life. Why not just stick all your songs in that vault and wait until you die to let people appreciate your talent and live a life of poverty and solitude?

I get sooooo tired of people who get to do what they want to do and make all kinds of money at it bitching about their lives. Try working construction or retail all your life and see how happy you'd be to travel around the world and play music while making tons of money.

I'm sure there are exceptions and having money sounds really attractive, but aren't you just a little frightened by the possible strings attached? Look how many "rich" people are really f-ed up.

For the most part construction workers have nice physiques and retail workers get discounts don't they? They get to go home at night and snuggle up? And they get to read to their children. Just a few things to be grateful for.

I don't know what construction sites you've been hanging around, but most of those guys work the hell out of themselves and pay for it later in life. We all have problems in life, but not having to worry about money makes many of those problems less pressing.

I do not believe "telling the truth" is the issue with many threads. I think some .Orgers are insulted by the way other .Orgers express themselves as concerns Prince. Often the comments are very personal and seemingly hurtful for the spite of it, which has nothing to do with helpful, honest criticism.

So find it hard to hear the negativities and slams
about someone who has given me so much listening pleasure
