Prince's wardrobe

I've never seen him in anything, twice...have you? (not including concert wear).

What does he do with all his clothes?
I can't imagine what his clothing/shoe budget is like...

He's worn the vest from the Cream video on the Arsenio hall show, and the black outfit while playing 'cream' live on Arsenio for his 'Gett off' video.

That's all that I can really recall as far as repeats.

He wore the same on the Tavis Smiley interview twice, although he insisted on having that suite twice, which surely was a joke, though.

The red suite in which he was taken pictures of at one of the french clothes-brand shows a couple of days ago seems to be the same as the one from the Montreux shows.

Back in the early 80s (Dirty Mind and Controversy tours) he was often seen wearing the same stuff. The coat, the handkerchief, the tights.

He joked that he had another suit just like it that he slept in. Yes, it was an obvious joke. And he wore it on two shows because the interview ran long and they made it into two shows. It's not as if he left, and came back the next day never having changed clothes.

The coat, hanky, etc are accessories. Back then Prince was more about a costume look. It was "a look", opposed to later when it became "just the way he dresses".

Actually, if I can recall, he wore the outfit from the "The One" video to a concert I attended. He also had an identical outfit in red which he wore at the end of the show.

I noticed you qualified your question with "not including concert wear" only after I prepared my response. Because the thing is; when Prince first came out, you rarely got to see him out & about UNLESS he was on stage. So if he wore the same pair of Levi's everyday (when NOT on stage), you wouldn't have necessarily known it. It wasn't like now in the way we get pics of Prince everywhere he goes (short of bathroom stalls). But back in the early days, he seemed to wear the same types of outfits all the time. First: The panties, leg warmers, trench coat (...with "Rude Boy" button on the lapel), and bandanna scarf. Then later: The black pants with the buttons down the side, ruffled shirt, with shiny purple raincoat. Even though I'm sure he had several dozens of each of those items. But I don't believe I ever saw him wear anything even close to the same thing after around "SOTT", on stage or off.

As far as what he does with his clothes after he seems to wear them once: I know I've seen some of his stuff in various museums, like in the lobby of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. But as for the rest of his old clothes, he probably burns them in an incinerator (...wasn't there some King back in the day that had his clothing hand made and burned after one wearing?). I can totally see Prince going there.

What I'd like to know (aside from who designs & makes his clothes) is; who makes his footwear? Cause you KNOW those girls are custom made, lol. And how many boots must he have in his closet???

That use to be the case, Prince not wearing things more than once, but is not the case now.

Can't note specific items, but he does wear things repeatedly now.

Now that I've thought about it, specifically, he wore that white shirt with the red dots many times.

I dont think he still does but his shoes were made by a cobbler in Old Street London, if the information was correct at the time (Early 1990s). I was in halls of residence at the time just round the corner but could never find it. His shoes look differnet now compared to the SOTT boot etc-his shoes look less boot like and less chunky
