These smaller venues have to charge that much per tix....
Arenas are still going for cheap...expect for Madonna, U2 etc. Prince is doing his thang...let him. Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Good for you! How lucky you were to have witnessed that, instead of whining and complaining why the other show was the same, longer or shorter, different setlist, etc. I came to have a good time, and I was fortunate to have witnessed yet again, a magnificent show, that forever will have a special place in my heart and memory for years to enjoy. I think Prince's ambition is the same as it was when he started his career. Making the best music he can, and putting on the best show he can.
He's said recently that he only plays live when he wants to and not when he has to. So that means that he'll be doing shows here and there but huge tours. Just like last night. As far as people saying money is the only thing that matters these days. I don't see too many people here working for free. "What about all the people that paid $77 for Prince's shitty website"? Nobody put a gun to their head and made them take their credit card out. If they're not satisfied with their membership, just don't renew it like I won't be doing. It's not that difficult. "What about all the people who spend money traveling to Europe"? If you're willing to almost go broke just to see a musician in concert. I'm sorry, but you're a dumb ass!!! People complaining about the price of the new expensive I-Pod he's selling. If it's expensive, don't buy it!!! I know I won't be. This isn't brain surgery. If his ticket prices are too high, that means you won't being seeing Prince this time!!! JERKIN' EVERYTHING IN SIGHT!!!!!

Watch me now, I'm going to do a strip-tease. — Seriously, you're into Prince and you have a problem with controversy ? 3 : You gotta be kidding. I'll give you the Grand Palais, but the other venues seem to be about added value, just like a luxury product. It doesn't cost that much to manufacture it. I Thank God a movies ticket still has a fixed price. I have to admit, at least he's sincere about it. You don't hear him sing "The Cross", or lyrics that suggest the world is in part in the state it is because of greed. The man has gone totally apolitical, that's his choice. Prince is going to continue to make music. The difference now is that he's free to do that whenever he feels. He's not under contract to make scheduled deliveries and subject to label scrutiny/approval of his work. He no longer has to impress or convince anyone of this talent. He has achieved what most artists dream of when they start their careers. He is known around the world, his music will be studied by future generations and he banged Carmen Electra . I think you're right LaAmi, that's why I made this thread... To TheNewpowerG: you are so in Prince-defend-mode and I don't understand your post at all, we have freedom of speech here don't we, I don't hate Prince if that's what you believe in, I'm only asking a simple question, starting a discussion about Prince and his abitions these days, - this thread isn't about money, try to read post #1 again: What ambitions do you believe Prince is having today/ these days??? Your guess is as good as mine, I can't figure out anything, he doesn't seem to want anything with his career now... He doesn't seem to be very ambitious anymore. It's clear from the interview that Prince is going to enjoy his happiness and s love of life & music. I loved the message about the "French crowd were so respectful, whereas Americans are obsessed with technology"." Very subtle, clearly one thing Prince does not suffer from is verbal diahorrea.
I would hope his long term ambition is to move away from America. There are so many more beauitful, peace loving societies to live in. While strictly speaking, there are only 4 continents, as a point of convention, there are actually 7. Also clear to me is that in no way does the "general fan base"on this forum immitate his persona at all. Prince has changed, moved on & embraced new spheres of life. He will probably continue to share these inspirations regardless of what anyone says, particularly any opinions on the internet.
