I don't listen to Purple rain anymore.
He has too much new good stuff to spoil me rotten razz

Like what?

Well Gold for one, I think should be a new anthem. Purple Rain to me is like Thriller. Over-exposed. Though some folks still like it. But if it's new to you, I suppose then it's really great. Purple Rain though, is on my ignore list razz

Some ppl don't think about how they'll respond if someone were to respond to them in a rude or sarcastic way.
I also think that some ppl won't know how rude they're being until someone responds to them in the same manner.
God bless those who are tryin to explain to him certain things that may seem trivial to older, more experienced orgers, remembering that he's kind of new to the Purple experience.
If orgers think Jarvius' threads don't make sense, just ignore it...but that doesn't mean he should give up either.

Yes I am. What can't you understand about it?

August 3, 1983 - infamous First Avenue gig w/ Wendy. He premiered "Let's Go Crazy", "Computer Blue", as well as recording and premiered "Purple Rain", "I Would Die 4 U", "Baby I'm A Star". The gig was recorded. The latter 3 songs were put on the Purple Rain album.

Purple Rain performances (Prince and The Time) was filmed at First Avenue for the film. He's obviously lip syncing the track from the album, which was recorded as noted above.

Priceless...

I usually think of the movie

I think people would usally think of the movie cuz the song is all edited down and polished, clean and clear, and ofcourse thats the version he played in the movie. The 83' version was much longer (over 16 min) with an extra verse and sounded much rugged and raw. Thats the version I prefer. Its been years since I listend to the album/movie version
Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U.

When I listen to Purple Rain...
the guitars, the vocals, the layered slides and licks, the guitar tone, the passion and soul, the texture of his voice, the emotional elements the incredible solo, the falsetto and biggest of all the story told within it all come to mind. It transfers me into a different set of mind.
It's the ONE Prince song I can never get sick of listening to over and over and over again for years to come. It has that special rock n roll formula of longevity that not all of his songs breathe.

I don't think of no frikkin movie confused *shakes head*

Imagine is Prince had another song as epic as Purple Rain up his sleave. How insane would that be.
"Not to sound cosmic, but I've made plans for the next 3,000 years," he says. "Before, it was only three days at a time."
