Think about it at First Ave or the performance in the movie?

I was thinking about it just now while listening to the song.

It's hard to think about it at First Ave.

Im just wondering.

August 3, 1983 - infamous First Avenue gig w/ Wendy. He premiered "Let's Go Crazy", "Computer Blue", as well as recording and premiered "Purple Rain", "I Would Die 4 U", "Baby I'm A Star". The gig was recorded. The latter 3 songs were put on the Purple Rain album.

Purple Rain performances (Prince and The Time) was filmed at First Avenue for the film. He's obviously lip syncing the track from the album, which was recorded as noted above.

When I listen to the song, I always think about the movie performance--purple trench coat, cloud guitar, etc. I hadn't even seen the actual 8/19/83 performance until 2-3 years ago!

The subject of where the song was premiered etc came to light in the thread, and I answered that part of the thread. Even Jarvius addressed a when/where statement as well, so he himself changed the mood of the thread as well as anyone else.

I have not answered the original question, because it doesn't really have an answer.

I don't listen to Purple rain anymore.
