Does Prince collect himself? Okay this might sound weird but if i was an artist, I would keep a copy or 2 of everything i ever released. Including, vinyl, cds, international, promos and rarities... thats just me...
I am guessing he didn't as he asked for samples to me mailed to him as "evidence".. I just wonder what he held onto. I would really like a detailed audit of the vault... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I'm guessing when he worked for Warner Brothers that they pressed everything and he probably didn't see any of it. Making love and music are the only things worth fighting for.

Only if it hard cash & knickers, puts them in separate special jars. When the fishmonger's closed, they can be whipped out for executive access or re-use for the next prodigy.

I loved that 'experiment' Prince could easily hire people to go out and get bootlegs for him if he was interested in seeing which ones were circulating, their quality, and what was out there. Rather, he asks his fans--the people who supported him throughout the years to send their music in (some fans have spent thousands on this material over the years---the years before napster ). My hunch is he was just getting 'back' at fans he felt did him wrong. No intelligent person would have thought that this would get rid of bootlegs or stop their proliferation. And I doubt any intelligent person would try and do data gathering in this method either. I found the entire endeavor fascinating and want to be the first to apologize on Prince's behalf to Dayclear and Tame for the time and money it mus have cost them to rebuild their collection afterward.

I'm sure he has copies of everything. Not to mention he has the original trax and can do as he pleases with them. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-
