Papa-Childhood memory?

Near the end of the song Prince says" Don't abuse children or else they turn out like me"

Any opinions about this song?

If this song is true then his dad blew his brains out with a shotgun. I think we all know that didn't happen.
RIP sad

Maybe it is true and his father blowing his brains out in
Purple Rain was wishful thinking.

Child abuse is very real.

Well as fans we all said but Prince you are such a Genius and if we abuse our children they will turn out like you. I do not think Prince meant Physically Abused like Hit. I think he means he was shuttled from household to household and felt unwanted or unloved and lonely. So,yes maybe Insecure also with a F-You attitude and having to be Strong and take Care of Himself. Made him a Winner. So yes he means don't Neglect your Children and Give them Love and Support is what I get from Papa.
