It's very personal, intimate, and has a wide audience (and we know how much MTV reruns shit). And with the onset of Palladia, it's sure to get a lot of airplay. He'd also be a great kick off to a new season. There's a lot of old and new names in music that they could put together for a fab 2010 season. I haven't ever seen the GM unplugged. It's fucking spectacular. It's where he does his awesome cover of "I Can't Make You Love Me". "Fastlove" and "Star People '97" is superb. I remember GM doing interviews before the show, talking about how Unplugged is really a rejuvenation for artists in America. He hadn't been around a lot at all in the US at that point, and knew the effect it could have. He seemed very angsty though, during the interview, greatly spewing "NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS" type statements when his sexuality was brought up. He just seemed distant. I've never looked to see the time line of what was going on in his life at the time, but he wasn't very happy, IMO. However, the show was superb. It's probably on YouTube. I have the audio of it from long ago. I think I've seen it on TV way back when. It's worth the effort to find it.

The people in the background are unfazed, almost as if this bloke is wheeled out on the hour, every hour to do his rendition of Kiss and they have seen/heard it a million times before. As for the topic at hand, I've never understood the tagline of "unplugged" for The Truth album. There are a few solo tracks which are obviously Prince, a microphone and an acoustic guitar, but they are in the minority. One Nite Alone (studio) on the other hand is Prince, a mic and an instrument. [Edited 10/9/09 15:47pm]

The whole album is great, one of my faves - not a weak track on there. An abundance of musical ideas and expertly played and recorded. Listen to it on a great stereo and it makes the hairs stand on end.
Gotta give props to Man in a Uniform....witty, great bass line and simple, but effective bongos.....and Fascination.....musical and lyrical genius right there ...we have only scratched the surface of what the mind can do...
