The Prince show from the 80's were insane. Girls in lingeries, boys in lingerie! Everyone trying to look like they were in the group or styled like the latest protege. The atmosphere was charged and everyone was friendly to each other. You could have met your future baby mama/papa at a Prince show in the 80's.
The show in the 90's were just as crazy but we dressed a little more conservatively. The corsets and lingerie were gone but the sexiness was still there. I met 2 of my future girlfriends at the Radio City Show for Daimonds & Pearls.
The constant back then was the killer performances and the man never failed to deliver a mind blowing night for everyone in attendance.

yes
When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

He plays some 20-25 year old tracks, he plays a few of his latest `singles` (if any), maybe an unreleased track and he ends with some old stuff. Did I forget to mention purple rain?

It took me a wee while to finally get to see Princey Live.
I had just turned 20 before he started the 21 Nights in london!
I remember the day those tickets went on sale, I just brought a laptop and went down the local internet cafe' to use their connection as i didn't have the net...

As I was on the ticket site, also on the phone to my sister, and msn to my best friend both trying to me those golden tickets!! After 5mins we managed to be 3 nights worth between us, you wouldn't believe how happy i was, it was like electric running through my vains!

I was there on the opening night, I got in the O2 arena 3 hours before he was gonna join us on stage, The seats were empty and puple music was been echoed through out the arena...

3 Hours Later the lights dimmed and Purple Rain started to play... Now I became a fan at 14, this was SIX years in the making for me, and words honestly cant discribe how fantasic it felt, I had the biggest grin on my face and I couldn't take my eyes off him!

Now After that first night I managed to get 8 more tickets 5 of which was front row, and 4 aftershow tickets!!
The feeling is amazing, and he is the most amazing performer I have ever seen, your time will come!!

BTW dont get me started on the final night. Main and aftershow were the greatest thing I have ever experienced!!!

it is great that young kids are getting into prince

he needs to do Bonarroo and a few other major festivals and blow some more people away

recently i ran into a few youngsters that saw him at Coachella and they said he was the best thing to ever happen to that festival

king you better hope he does not go on tour and if he does, you better hope you do not have much money saved because if you do - it could all get spent following him around

i saw him 7 times for the ONA tour and 8 times for Musicology and 4 times in Vegas and each show was incredible

I was one of the Croke Park ticket holders who got royally screwed in the ass, so I wouldn't know. But if you forget about the extreme dissapointment in a cancellation three days before the gig's supposed to happen, I can honestly tell u that the excitment leading up to a Prince concert is unreal!

Living in Ireland, the first time I got to see him live was in 1990, it was amazing - but I was so jealous at that stage that I had missed out on the earlier concerts - Purple Rain, Parade, Lovesexy - I had the videos, but was too young to travel to see him abroad at the time. Saw him each time he was in Ireland (1990, 1992, 1995, 2002) and twice in London in 2007. His concerts are in my opinion, the best.... Despite being very pissed off over the Croke Park fiasco - I'll still go to see him the next time - whether that be Dublin, London or where ever else I can afford.

its serious fun .... and i do mean serious .. at the LA 3 gig night the ppl who were waiting in line for a looong time when they finally got to go in the ppl from all the restaurants who were waiting to made a frenzd dash in the lines which meant serious cut ins and the securty was nonexstant so there were feirce fights .. ive had a fair share of gigs ive gone to but that night was a lil crazy. i love going to concerts, seeing bands in clubs .. the experience is truly inspiring and when u see a performer who brings what P does it can be a lil life altering.

If you're on this site, it's an absolute must to see him before you die... irrespective of cost/effort involved.

I was at the SOTT opening night, and have seen him several times since then, but not as many times as some of the people here.

I personally think the one thing which could save Lotusflow3r.com from absolute disaster when we all come up for renewal would be if he releases sound check tickets or similar to members first. Assuming it was in many enough places for most to go, all complaints would be off! But then, again, with a new major tour, we'd all be so grateful it doesn't matter about the site...

Swear to God, if this was 1984-1989 I'd look like Apollonia's little tan sister (with boobies under control). I'd be rocking that lingerie and the too fucking much make up and everything.

Not to mention dancing my booty off booty! as Prince molested his guitar.

I grew up in Australia so I didn't get a chance to see P till '92. He put on one hella show and it was the tail end of the D&P tour so he was already playing stuff from Symbol (some of which he even wrote and recorded while downunder if I'm not mistaken). I went three times - twice in an arena (3rd row and last row), once in a stadium (near the front). The stadium gig was nowhere near as good as the arena gigs. Every night was different. This was, though, more of a spectacle style gig than a jam although he did go off on a few trax.

I was also at the first Celly and saw him at Northrop (on my b'day). That was amazing - the opposite kind of gig: all about the music.

Unfortunately I now live in israel so don't have much chance of seeing him again (shoulda gone to London for the O2 but couldn't afford it...)

A very energetic show.
He's able to shift gears effortlessly between ballads and faster songs.

But the song selection can be less than stellar at times, or just so damned repetitious. I much more enjoyed his after-parties than his concerts.

He's really great still, but is prime was at least 12 years ago.
Girls who do crack always got them messed up, missing teeth, bless their hearts.

Prince concerts....rubbish!!!

Only kidding - if you love Prince is gigs will blow your socks off, if you just about like Prince his gigs will blow your socks off, if you've lost faith in his recording ability his gigs will blow your socks off and recharge your Prince-battery.

Putit this way, my wife hated Prince but I dragged her along to the London Hammersmith Appollo gig in 2002. She said shed never seen anything like it, wad amazed and how tight it was and how funky it was...and to be fair it was a fairly low key gig.

2007 O2 gigs cone around and a heavily pregnant wife is badgering me to gettickets.... This was a woman who couldn't gwt comfortable sitting down for more than 5 mins and she wanted to go to a crowded gig.

If that's not convinced you... She wanted to go to the final O2 date by which time she was just weeks away from popping, obviously she couldn't go.....but I'd did (and aftershow). Not sure if it's s bigger testament that SHE wanted to go or that I would leave her to go myself.

His gigs vary night by night and yeR by year - Diamonds and Pearls was all flamethrowers and trampolines, Gild Wxperience was conveyor belts, ONA just s small stage a few lights

Worst things about a Prince show?

1. It not being enough.
2. Not getting tickets for an aftershow.
3. Prince not turning up.
4. It not being enough.
