What we saw on Crystal Ball was him scrapping off the bottom of the barrel and leaving the BEST stuff in the vault. We got a few good song, but over I was disappointed with the material how it was arranged and mixed and how few songs were on each CD. I agree, there would be an odd number of gems in the Vault, but also a lot of more average stuff and some things that will hopefully never see the light of day, but still it will be hard to sort the diamonds from the dust. Prince probably has so much stuff in there, hes forgotten about half of it. Problem is he was always more concerned with quantity rather than quality. Still I would love to be locked in there with a tape player for a week alone.

Maybe he doesn't like some of the songs we think are so great or thinks they are too personal.

The rape scene in Extraloveable, for example..lol

There are wonderful songs post Batman:

Dance With The Devil, Schoolyard, The Grand Progression, Work that fat, Days Of Wild, 1000 hugs and Kisses, Allegience, etc...

I think the iVault is more indicative of the contents of Prince's Vault. Crystal was a small taste of what's in there though.

Nothing at all to do with opinions - you cannot say something is something it is not and say that is just my opinion.....you need to qualify it. Now, here we have 2morrow and your claim that it is a "remix" of TMBGITW. The reason you are wrong is because 2morrow is an original song that uses a sample from TMBGITW. A remix is an alternative version of the same song that is different to the original. 2morrow, in no way whatsoever, reworks TMBGITW. Different chords, different lyrics....it is an original song of its own that makes use of a tiny sample from TMBGITW.

In your opinion I'm claiming something is something it is not. I disagree. The chorus is the same repeated 5 times from another Prince song, I call it a Prince remix. Prince doesn't follow rules and restrictions when it comes to making remixes of his songs and he always tries to do something unexpected and break the rules. Escape (Free Yo Mind From This Rat Race) is a remix of Glam Slam and it has different lyrics and a different sound, Take This Beat is a remix of I Wish U Heaven and it has different lyrics and a different sound, Things Have Gotta Change, 2 The Wire, Get Some Solo, Do Your Dance, Housebangers, Q In Doubt are all remixes of Cream, Violet The Organ Grinder and Clockin’ The Jizz are very loosely based off of the song Gett Off. Purple Melody is a mix of a ton of Prince songs all together.

I thought it was a laugh in the face to the bootleggers. It was random. Like a shuffled play list.

It is KIND OF like a glimpse, but the real PUNCH are with the still bootlegged music like Rebirth, All My Dreams, Train etc. etc.

The sound on Crystal Ball is crystal clear amazing so we know those tracks are in good condition.

Mindflux, don't bother answering. The guy doesn't seem to have the basic faculties for logic, so it's pretty useless arguing with him on such a moot issue. Especially as he has adopted also some sort of a naive notion of relativism that he doesn't seem to be capable of handling either (most easily spotted by the faulty use of the word "opinion" and the "I call it" -clause).

Above he would actually make a few good points here and there about the relationship between other pieces of music, but again, even there would be far too many contradictions involved that would make pointing them out worthwhile - especially as he most likely wouldn't be able to deal with the criticism. I really haven't seen in ages such behaviour from a supposedly adult person, even on the internet.

2morrow fits the broader context of the word remix as a hybridizing process combining fragments of various works.

Uh, no they aren't. Pre-recorded cassettes don't last as long as blank cassette recordings but after 20 years or so my cassettes had deteriorated badly. They were stored in a case, away from sunlight and heat. Rarely played.
After 25 years I dumped them all because they had deteriorated too badly.
