It's ok, not good. The only very good song on that album is Underneath The Cream. The funky latter part of Judas Smile is cool too.

I think if he had released High The album it would have been one of weakest albums, the only songs I really like from these sessions are When I Lay My Hands on U, Underneath The Cream and Vavoom.

The other songs are all ok but not strong enough to make a good album. Which Is probably why it wasn't released.

Yes, High is a cool song.

At the time Mr Hayes described the new album (High) as sounding like the 1979 album Prince. Thats really true when you think about it, the mixture of slow ballads, rock and funk.

IMO one of the artistically poorest periods in his career: New Power Soul, Rave, The Chocolate Invasion, The Slaughterhause.

Creating 'funk' without real funkieness, that awfull plastic production, incorporating elements of dance-music that were allready very dated when he used them, performing 'grooves' without strong compositions to carry them.

High and the Chocolate Invasion are Prince at the lowest point in his career.
