I'm sorry, but for me that song only works in falsetto...

Effa Tom Jones. Richard Thompson does the best cover of Kiss.
We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Did anyone else hear that brief Alphabet St. snippet at the beginning? It's the "yeah yeah yeah" part. Funny. It's a tribute concert!!!! razz

Tremolina

The bass and horns are cool about TJ's version, but he can't sing, nor dance to it properly and that's what this song requires. TJ's version is cool but Prince's version is superior, especially live.

Or are YOU suggesting there is something wrong with doing covers?

When there's plenty of excellent original material one might argue that covering whatever is a waste of time.

You might, on the other hand, i heard Prince cover some songs excellent. In my opinion the TJ version of Kiss is really good (i like his voice and you have toe see the humour in his stage appearance is guess).

Because "waste of time" was underlined, I thought it might be a link, so I tried to click on it.

It wasn't.

Talk about a waste of time sad

As if your browser doesn't show a link's destination when you mouse over it?
What a waste of time not to use the eyes, brains etc.
Then even write about it!
Now we have an epic fail.
Yes. You know why.

In other news: what would be excusable covers by Prince?
I mean: assuming you understand the vast potential of own songs he has, what covers would be fitting on any given day?

I probably heard Tom Jones sing it first, but I've grown used to Prince doing it. It just feels weird with TJ singing it now. I don't know what to think.

What's to think? There's hundreds of covers out there, but this one is one of the much better ones. It's funky as hell, and beats Prince's version in a lot of ways.

I love u I do...but NO.

Oh relax udon't. Don't YOU waste YOUR time worrying about what was (clearly) only meant as a silly comment.

Of course my cursor shows whether it's a link or not, silly. Oh wait, no, it doesn't because I use IE0.3, sorry.

"Epic fail"? Isn't that the internet put-down of the moment? Well done you for using it.

he doesn't take himself serious, that is the fun of it wink
