I'd pay $20 a pop every time for a DVD, or CD/DVD set of a REAL show. Go watch everything on the Justin Timberlake FutureSexLoveShow DVD set. Interviews w/ Justin and the band, the show, behind the scenes (or in this case, under the stage) footage as the show happened, then the cameras followed him from the stage all the way to the dressing room, and still had more footage after that. The 2nd DVD was full of stuff too. Just an example of what an artist CAN do for their fans, when they realize how much their fans have helped make their career, and pad their wallets.

And when he doesn't.....he charges everyday Americans who are barely keeping a roof over their heads and a car key in their pocket $2,500 for some bullshit iPod. What happens when you sync the iPod? No.1 opus is the jewel studded one that will be up for auction, late 2009. The launch party is due to be held at the Opus Store, London, the night before the auction. Auction winner also gets private performance in LA for 50 guests plus jacket from 21 nights. (Maybe get together with other friends & bid for the limited edition if you really want that private party?).

When all 950 opuses have been sold, purchasers of same will be entered into a prize draw for a chance to win £21,000.

This is not a good time to release it considering MJ passed and his film is to be released in Oct and his Opus in December. Two stars two worlds apart. These books are a bit pricey for me. I'd rather buy music

I think a real travesty would be if Prince were to release lots of music from the vault, and videos people really wanted to see on the Opus. But that's not what he did. Instead, he released an unessential novelty item for folks who can drop money on it, which in my opinion really shouldn't offend fans to much. If I won't drop 50 bucks on bad smelling Prince perfume, why would I do so with this iPod? And more importantly, why should it offend me not to be able to buy these unessential items?

To me the Opus is nothing more than just a fun little novelty toy--not something most fans should actually really want to purchase. I don't see anything wrong with the product. I'll never buy it.
But if the Olsen twins want to purchase something cute in a purple case that they'll play maybe once or twice, more power to them.

I think folks get worked up over the Opus too much. The real travesty is the $77 dollar supscription to lotusfailure.com that ended up being largely abandoned. Lest we not forget, most of lotusflow3r subscribers also had a lifetime membership to npgmc.com which didn't transfer over to lotusflow3r memberships . Hopefully we'll see more material on that site, but I'm not holding my breath.
