I specifically told my wedding DJ to make sure that he played a bunch of Prince. I told him that Adore had to be one of the songs, but it was not the first dance. Afterwords, my sister in law told me that I should have done Forever in my Life. I couldn't believe that I hadn't thought of it.
In the summer I will be in a wedding of a fellow orger and I believe that he will be using Adore as his first dance. Maybe he will read this and respond. I abdicated the throne in Ithaca, but now I am...

we used D&P as one of our first three songs (bridal waltz...followed by parents and family)
i have happy memories of dancing with my Grandfather to this song 
the DJ knew i was a Prince fan, therefore we had a few songs played throughout the evening. I remember being dragged on the dance floor to Kiss seems that i was busy doing something close to nothing, but different than the day before   | |

We got married in 1992. Unfortunately my husband isn't a Prince convert but the first dance at the reception was my chief bridesmaid and myself dancing to 1999 (DJ didn't have a big selection of P) then we kicked into the 'first dance for the Bride & Groom. P always comes first!!!! Chief B & I have been fans since 1984 & slept in the station overnight after seeing him at Wembley 1986. Still trying trying to convert H to P! If had to choose my favourite P song for ideal first dance would be Forever in my Life, just beautiful.
