1984, 1994, 2004...just an observation

Has anyone noticed that these dates mark the biggest events in P's career? I know it's silly, but just thought it was interesting.

1984, Purple Rain... his landmark album

1994, His first release as prince... Obviously, a huge event seeing as
TMBGITW was his "I told you so" hit to Warner Bros. But at the
same time, marked the beginning of the end of a great mainstream career.

2004, Musicology... The "Comeback" album and biggest money making tour of 2004

10 years between each of these events.
Maybe we can expect something huge again in 2014... just 5 years to go! Lol

Any opinions on what it may be? Maybe a Platinum selling DVD of live perfomances? Opening the Vault? Retirement? It will have to be something HUGE to continue the 10 year pattern

Haha, I love your entusiasm.... lol

and very nice observations, biggrin

but I seriously doubt something huge will come from Prince ever again.

He's an independant artist now, and he's in "the fall" of his career, as much as I would love to see him on a big label again, with a major project, I doubt it will happen,

his time is over, he's not a major force no more, unfortunately.

He's an cult artist with a small dedicated group of loyal fans.... the big music world doesn't care about Prince no more....

MAYBE if Prince hired some proffessionels to run his career once again..... but I doubt that will ever happen again, like in the days of Warner Bros.

ps... No doubt about 1984 and 2004 were essential years in Prince's career, but I think that the year 1994 is more known in the Prince world for the controversy & confusion: his name change to prince the previous year - the release of the Come and Black Album - and for his fights with Warner Bros. over ownership, something that a lot of the fans didn't understand,

in short: 1994 was more known for confusion, more than for the Most Beautiful Girl hit song, wasn't it... ?

1974 Prince is singing in Grand Central, and writing all their songs, as well as gaining a local following in the Twin cities area.

Well stated Bill clapping

Unfortunately it appears that a very vocal few are not very impressed with his conversion, and like to bang on about it (negatively) ad nauseam sigh
Any mention is usually the start of an Org lecture on the horrors of religion.

Don't sweat it ron. This nurse person seems to be the forum police and let everyone else know when they have too much time on their hands. Just saw another thread that they felt the need to educate another poster on the value of time.

Good point and maybe so. But bear in mind that here in the UK that has been his ONLY number 1 single ever. Sad but true!
I know I hold you too tight, but I just can't seem to get close enough
