I remember a TV-show recorded and aired in my homecountry, The Netherlands, in 1999: The "TV-show" presented by Ivo Niehe.

He was promoting his CD 'Rave Unto the Joy Fantastic' with one of the most awkard and annoying interviews I have ever seen. He did let Larry Graham talk for him most of the time, like he had no mind of his own. And the presenter, Ivo Niehe, usually a very heel-licking, slimey guy, seemed to realise Prince was talking out of his ass during this interview. He was provoking and daring Prince a bit, and it made Prince look like a fool. A person totally out of touch with reality.

The interview was allready painfull to see, and it did get emphasised even more by Princes performance: he was lypsinching The Greatest Romance while Larry was putting on his big smile while pretending to playing to the bass-guitar.
Ugly, fake, detached, annoying.... Prince at his low point.

Ill add another,it was sum kind awards show, back in 99 or 2000 when he got on stage 2 accept a award and the whole celeb audience got on their feet and stood 4 him and Prince gave a long speech,he was saying stuff like You are a blessed people and ect. What made me laugh was that while Prince was talking, the camera shows the rapper Xibit laughing at Prince.

when he was on a show called the Saturday show i think, he appeared as tora tora, sang count the days, and get wild with the band, and after that during the interview he whispered into maytes ear the answers to the questions, making him look like a complete wierdo!

That's 2 different shows - Saturday Show was the whispering and he performed Billy Jack Bitch

The White Room - was count the days and Get Wild

One of the worst was Baby Knows on TFI Friday.... Chris Evans the presenter had, a few years previously, had an invitation to the Emancipation Gig revoked after he made a joke about Prince on the radio. Years pass, Evans has his own show and Prince needs promotion....cue a poor performance by a guy who doesn't want to be there and a presenter/host who doesn't want him there. Oddly enough this crap was put on NPGMC

to me this was bad:

The Christ, Formerly known as The Cross, with Chaka Khan and Larry Graham on VH1 in 1997.

The change of lyrics and to hear Larry Graham trying to sing this great song.

Yuck the song was ruined.. imo. wink

btw. I love most of Prince's performances, and I think Prince and the Twinz looked hot on the American Idol 2006, cool

It wasn't vh-1...it was the Essence Awards

The worst was Prince w/ Larry singing "Baby Knows" on CBS 'The Early Show'....Bad. You could tell it was pre-recorded because Bryant Gumble has on a different suit, but they played it off like it was 7:00 in the morning. After they sang (the horrible) song Prince gasp like was tired and said "man, it's early". Plus, Prince had that long haid....bad, bad, bad

ha ha.

TFI Friday did similar here to censor an artist reknowned for swearing. They pre-recited an inreview with him so they could edit the swearing and were going to put it out with the rest of the live show and pretend it was "live" and then got him back to the live show a few days later to perform his set.

It was excellent idea apart from one thing.....

He sits down, scraggly brown hair, does his "live" interview, gets up and walks through the door to the performance area....and comes out the otherside with completely different clothes and cropped bleached hair. On top of that he just replaced most of the lyrics with a string of swearwords

I would agree with the ones with Larry or the lip-sync ones altho I do like the P Control performance with Mayte

I liked the BET awards, was nice to see him and Stevie onstage together, didn't like the turtleneck tho.
