The sample suggests this is a great song, what was susan Rogers talking about. I take anything that women says about his music with a great big lump of salt.

Didn't Prince get some artwotk mocked up for this song in the late 1990's, plus publishing the lyrics this suggests he's fond of the song.

Maybe one day he'll release it.

And the fact that there are no cuss words makes it an option for him to revisit it.
When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

I think we'll get a Crystal Ball II some day, it won't contain all the gems we hope for but i reckon we'll get this one, and probably the still to be released stuff from Dream Factory so we can compile the album ourselves from the various releases although the version in circulation is pretty good quality apart from Witness.

Just my thoughts.

What in the world does Big House sound like?

it's got a drum machine and percussion based sound, it's a bit shit like big tall wall, but slightly better. it sounds like some graffit bridge era outtake from 89/90

lyrics are...

when i was a little bitty baby, i tell u what my mama used 2 say, all the little babies who love me, prayed 2 the god each day. i hope that god lives in the big house so i can take my friends with me, one day i'm gonna party in the glory, one day we'll all be free. i used to pray for candy, the singer in my favourite band. now i'm older, i'm gonna shake his hand, blah blah blah

Big House is from 1988. Its little more up beat than Big Tall Wall, also with more instuments and sound effects.
Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U.

agree Big house is nothing like Big Tall Wall - it's much more upbeat, musically and lyrically. BH Talks positive about god and such, in oppostition to the darker, possessive lyrics in BTW.

I like Big House, reminds me of Love 89.

In fact all the 7 samples were great.

Hard to Get 81
Traffic Jam
Cosmic Day
Everybody Want What They Don't Got
Go
Adonis And Bathsheba
Big House.

Imagine them all on disc 1 of a crystal Ball 2. I'd wet my pants.

That one is truly the best of the pack. I like most of the others, but how this song didn't get released is amazing to me. Here's hoping the full version gets "released" somehow....

Adonis & Bathsheba is a great little snippet. To me its nothing like Crucial. The lyrics to A&B have a more spontaneous sound, and Crucial's lyrics sound more contrived. I like both songs though.

Susan Rogers is right. It is one of his goofiest songs ever... that said, sometimes it takes songs like this and my repulsion of it to make me realize how amazing some of his other songs are. He isn't going to knock it out of the park on every song and there is a reason this wasn't released. It sucked.
The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. (www.amazon.com/gp/product/1538114623/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0) or www.facebook.com/groups/1...104195943/

Prince has a ton of goofy songs. Im sure its worthy of a release, especially since a song like DO U LIE got released.

Do U Lie is excellent.

Watch your words.

Unless you mean because it was just goofy and not bad. Then it's okay and I apologise. lol

But Do U Lie is brilliant.

That's a cool song from the bit that I've heard. I hope we hear the rest of the song one day. The snippest of new unreleased songs I like the most are "Everybody Wants What They Don't Got" and "Go."

I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Right, we have to remember it was a movie soundtrack, and the French sounds were utilized for the movie, it fit the movie, and shows who Prince and the band could stretch

There are seven songs where it only has snippets. I'd guess Prince passed around a snippet tape to someone and it got lost or stolen..lol

Susan Rogers talked about this lost track Wally, talking about what a masterpiece it was, but I'd bet the song was no better than Diamonds and Pearls or somesuch..lol
All you others say Hell Yea!! woot!
