The thought occurred to me the other day when I started to whistle 1999 in the shower... it just didn't sound tuneful at all...

The exception to the rule appears to be Diamonds and Pearls but, apart from that sole tune try whistling any other Prince composition and it sounds like crap...

He does have a lot of percussive melodies that don't sound great when you break them down to something simple like whistling.
