me personally i would cuz i believe he is capable of it. what better way 2 create a new audience. dance on from lovesexy was early drum and bass. I think Prince doesn't teLly understand as wide a range of music as perhaps we think....hear me out!!! Take the album....jack of all trades master of none. When rave and techno were fashionable he tried his hand at those with the MNIP and Sexy Mf remixes, plus I wanna melt with u. Diluted reggae in Blue light, Breakbeats on Rave. Really all Prince can master is ballads, guitar and funk, and now electropop drum machines,...everything else us just going thru the motions Oh come one! Prince is widely regarded by critics and music professionals for the unique way in which he is able to blend a myriad different styles. Yes, he rarely has just excelled in one (say, lke Bob Marley with reggae), but that's because Prince takes the styles and mixes them in to something exclusively Prince. If you don't feel or hear that, fine - but most others seem to ...we have only scratched the surface of what the mind can do...

Modern dance music has never been his thing. Songs like Melt with U, Loose and Sleep around show he was always YEARS to late when it comes to 'grasping' what was actually happening in the dance-movement. Next to that, his attempts at modern dance-music have mostly been very cheesy sounding. Its just not his genre. The songs u have mentioned are excellent trax. i don't think they were out of date when they came out. You name me the dance songs that sound similar to them. In fact I find sexyback by justin similar to loose. listen to them carefully the structure of the songs are similar.

hell naw! He isn't good at doing dance music (track 4 on the Come album is a perfect example), so I'd hate to see how he would do trip hop. It is such a specified genre anyways, I doubt that anyone who isn't already into this style of music would even appreciate it. I certainly don't want to hear it from him. He just needs to do what he does best.

I would like to see him do a deep, dark almost minimal type of techno. But I dont think it is his cup of tea though. He has dabbled in the dance scene a little over the years and none of it seems to come out well. Human body and new world sprint to mind... Maybe the fact that he commissioned D4M to be remixed with a more underground "dance" feel to it indicates a move in that direction? I dunno. But the fact that he accepted such third-rate rubbish to be released after hearing it suggests his dance music ear is a little deaf to the genre.
But an album of non vocal (or minimal vocal) dance music stripped down to deep, dirty bass and fat drums would be a great move if he got it right. Imagine the next world tour - no band, no musicians, just Prince on the decks surrounded by gizmos with lots of knobs and a phat bass to dance your ass off to for a couple of hours. Not only would he capture a whole new generation of fans, he would certainly keep his touring overheads down. I can see it now; "Prince - 21 nights at Fabric. No hits, no musicians. Just one man and his vinyl". The album could be called The Vinyl Experience or Vinyl Rain.
