Also, in the song "Welcome to the Slaughter House" What is the Slaughter House? Is it a place like Uptown or Paisley Park?

What ever happened to all the footage in the Purple Rain trailer that was not in the movie and has anyone ever seen that version of Purple Rain?

What is the song "Gold" talking about? What is the main message?

He's asking her to imagine them engaged in a kiss and the courtyard of violets in bloom....all at the brink of exctasy in perfection and then she leaves him standing. Lonely world is so cold...

Gold is surely "don't judge a book by it's cover." All that appears is not always what it seems...Often what you reach for or long for can be disappointing and hollow At least that's what I understand from it anyway.

I think of that line as literally what Prince is singing. They are curious about the animal attraction between these two lovers.

I am not familiar with, "Slaughterhouse." I don't know what happened to other "Purple Rain," footage.

"GOLD," in my opinion is kind of an alchemical song...We are made from the dust of the Earth which contains all of the elements of life...and our spirit, through it's ascension process become pure from impurities.

THAT is how those "Ooh, what does THAT mean" questions come across. Prince ain't that deep, trust. He TRIES to be, and at times, he's almost succeeded, but the only mystery about Prince is people striking curious poses, when he does something, saying "WTF, bro?"
