D'Angelo's version of "She's Always In My Hair"

This is one of the funkiest and best Prince covers of all time. Do you agree?

I wore out my Scream 2 soundtrack listening 2 this... I was shocked when I seen the symbol credited 2 this in the liner notes... that was early in my discovering of Prince... songs like this and others that I loved when I was younger kinda tells me that I was destined 2 admire the mans music

Yeah, I certainly agree. THIS is the only cover of a Prince song that I like. I remember when I first saw Scream 2 in the theatre, when I heard this, I was like "Oh shit! Whaaaaat?". cool

I don't like it. It's totally missing the synthesizers.

Personally, as far as pure listening pleasure goes, D'angelo is Prince's equal and in some cases, superior, in some instances. D brings a joyful funk that touches the soul, like no other.

The remake is so hot that it's hard for me to listen to without the sudden urge of wanting to share it with others, lol. cool

D'angelo's brilliance has no bearing on Prince's greatness; theres room for them both!

I don't care for it. shrug

I think the only Prince cover I really like is Alicia Keys' "How Come You Don't Call Me"

very strong cover version thumbs up!

so no one like's chaka's version of i feel 4 u tho?
man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Music is art, and can be interpreted in many ways, I'm the first to admit it; but I can hardly understand how any Prince fam doesn't really dig this remake, or other remakes such as Purple Flip.

Princesound + Neo Soul = my favorite emerging musical genre.

Shit compared to Prince's.

Ironic, since Prince was mauled in 'Voodoo' liner notes.

Love this version. Excellent production.

To be honest, my requirements of a cover aren't really all that high, and there's many covers that are nothing special that I love. But this one I definitely think deserves some special attention, it's true to the original and unique at the same time.
