Lion of Judah, All the Midnights, Morning After All recorded on the same day it seems. They all have a similar vibe and sound and you can tell Prince was just in a certain mood that day... also all featuring Tamar and Bria Valente as background vocalists.
Anyone agree? | |

I'd be surprised all of them were recorded in ONE day, they are so carefully
crafted that I don't think it could happenthat fast, they do have a similar vibe, I only heard the Morning After once, I kinda forgot what it was like, I love the Lion of Judah and All the Midnights, I Love Planet Earth too

Of the three, The Morning After is the only one I like. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

funny that. but i don't care too much for "the morning after"
yet "lion of judah" and "all the midnights in the world" are my two favorit songs on the planet earth album. they do sound similar, yes. and it wouldn't surprise me one bit if they came from the same recording sessions. someone said they doubt it since the songs seem so well crafted, it would be hard to do in one day. but don't forget that with people like michael b and sonny t, prince just lets the tape roll and they jam on basic ideas or create a dozen or so funky rhythm tracks which prince later fleshes out. the whole 3121/planet earth/lotusflower era stems from a few monster sessions imo. and all those tracks are top notch. in addition he's put other songs on them to make them a bit of everything and it's those songs that fail most often imo. stuff like "mr goodnight" or "incense and candles" etc. i'd love love love to hear what else was recorded during those michael b/sonny t sessions. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

A good point about Micheal B and Sonny T, but I'm fairly sure they aren't on any of the tracks being discussed here.

I agree, he must of cut Judah and Midnights first and then decided to do the morning after as an afterthought So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over. Its gonna take a long time
