What's with all the references to a chain around his hip?

In all these songs, he keeps saying stuff like "this chain around my hip" or urging someone to "climb" the chain around his hip-

am I reading too deep into it? Is it not some figurative speech, but just a simple reference to actual gold chains worn around one's hip?

I've never seen anyone wear a gold chain around the hip.

Someone please help me make some SENSE OF THIS.

He actually wears a gold chain around his hips.

This is his way of showing his strength and the power of his soul if he chooses to give his body, mind and soul 2 a woman. He is also asserting his intense sexual nature by juxtaposing gender. A woman has a chastity belt or is a virgin. Prince is famous for juxtaposing between male and female and so he has his own type of chastity belt that he will share with whom he chooses.
