Sometimes it snows in April

Hey guys!

I was just listening to the song, "Sometimes it snows in April",
and I get goose bumps everytime I hear that song, it's so genuine and simple, it really touches your feelings, I am always in tears after hearing that song. It's probably one of my favourite Prince songs of all time.

I was just wondering what you guys up in the org think of the song? And also if you had any special stories/memories with that song.

Take Care wink

This song has been part of my rehab. It is warm, soothing, and beautiful. I love Prince's voice which sounds so heartfelt.

Jimi and the band 'Purple Rain' did an accoustic set at the boat party in London last Sunday, and the last song they played was this! It was dedicated to our friend and orger Ruth who passed away last year... Jimi did an amazing job of it, just kept it really simple, as it is, but it was so beautiful and a wonderful tribute to Ruth. We all sang along on the chorus smile They are an amazing tribute band btw, I don't normally like tribute bands, and I especially didn't think I'd ever like a Prince tribute band, but they're absolutely fantastic musicians, really authentic to Prince and The Revolution without trying 'too hard', and to those of us who didn't see The Revolution, they ARE The Revolution, they blow everyone away every time! So, yeah, I loved it before, and now I love it even more..... biggrin

My parents played this at a memorial for my dad's cousin who died from AIDS in April.

It's a very beautiful song. The music and the lyrics makes it's easy for me to picture the story in my mind. It's one of my top 5 Prince songs. Sometimes I listen to it with headphones in bed to wind down before I sleep.

Every time I hear this song I can feel the sadness in his voice.
It’s such a sad and lonely song. Unfortunately I understand the pain and loss he was feeling when he wrote it.
That’s why I can’t listen to it regularly - I just get over emotional when I do.
So I tend to skip it and it’s never been on repeat.

This song is sad but the music is pretty so it's a jewel to listen to.
Timeless song. I'm not sure if I'd like life to be never ending though.
Interesting lyric, "love isn't love until it's past" as well. Is that what he says?

I bet this song scared the fuck out of Prince when they finished it. I don't doubt it contributed to the Revolution's breakup.

I do hope that is some kind of sick joke!!

'Ironikally'... As powerful as this song is, I always found that it lost 90% of it's impact in context of its use in the film.
The way it was sped up, the military drums & extra orchestration added... As subtle as the differences are, it just takes all the wind out of such an amazingly emotive song.
